I'm a little afraid of Bedbugs because I tend to have nightmares and bugs are nightmare material, but I love his writing so much that I may just have to give it a go.

So envious that you have an ARC of the second book! If I was not on a tight budget because of Kiddo's college and the bills for the house we have not yet put on the market, I'd buy it *right now*. But I think I'm in love with the author, regardless of the book. Bedbugs has to be one of the best horror novels that I have ever read.

I have an ARC of the second book in this trilogy, I just need to get around to reading it.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17786139533776263328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-5922862682614926442013-08-15T22:59:32.965-05:002013-08-15T22:59:32.965-05:00His sense of humor is really what made the book st...His sense of humor is really what made the book stellar, in my humble opinion. I'm sooo not a mystery fan but unique and funny will get me, every time. I hope you love it as much as I did, Susan!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-49457532339104629682013-08-15T20:52:27.306-05:002013-08-15T20:52:27.306-05:00I have this book on my shelf! I am anxious to get to it, just haven't been quite in the mood for and end of the world book this summer. Your review is great, it's the first one to pick up on the humour in the book, so I'm much more likely to pick it up very soon now. I need some dark humour right now. Thanks, Bookfool! Yes, the second in the series was just released last month, so there are two to look forward to reading!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-92065430767320952832013-08-15T09:58:20.874-05:002013-08-15T09:58:20.874-05:00Oh, how did I leave out the word "quirky"...Oh, how did I leave out the word "quirky"? I would have thought a book in which the world has only 6 months before destruction would have been terribly downbeat!
And there is a second book in the series! It takes a nice unique spin to suck me into a book that has mystery at its core. Wll done, Mr. Winters.

So envious of you getting to read Countdown City, already!!!! I've got it on my wish list but I'm guessing it'll take quite a while before I acquire a copy. I feel like it's not often you find such quotable, well written passages in the genre, but Ben Winters is fantastic. I just finished the second book in the series, Countdown City, and it's just as good!Shannon @ River City Readinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02024137897685829669noreply@blogger.com
