Our dearly departed Miss Spooky loved the outdoors but was injured several times and I vowed that when we got new kitties they would stay indoors *all* the time. Fiona has slipped out a few times but she never gets more than a few feet onto the porch. We're determined to keep her safe.

Tea,

Thank you! She is intensely curious. Really, that's one of the things I adore about most about cats. They never do lose that curiosity. I love my little explorers! :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-47560290051116379642011-05-21T17:40:17.383-05:002011-05-21T17:40:17.383-05:00She's so pretty. Our cats are strictly indoors - too many big, bad monsters out there for little defenseless cats.twiga92https://www.blogger.com/profile/16751327144782362475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-26941761818971143012011-05-21T14:51:10.020-05:002011-05-21T14:51:10.020-05:00Zibilee,

I always think it's so cute when the kitties stand on their hind legs to look out the screen door, so I was focused on getting that Fiona Friday shot!!

Gaye,

You know, the funny thing is that when she does sneak out (which happens occasionally), she's actually pretty terrified and doesn't go far. But, there is nothing that thrills the kitties more than open windows. They love the sounds and smells of outdoors. Yes, we can all stand to look at the world through the eyes of someone so fascinated. It's way too easy to get bored or jaded. Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

Bellezza,

That wide-eyed look is really something, isn't it? I'm guessing she must have seen a squirrel . . . or a bird or a lizard or -- okay, there's actually quite a bit to catch a kitty's eye, when you get right down to it. We're not shy of wildlife.

I'm sorry you're feeling trapped! Does school end soon? I think my son (you know he's a math teacher, now, right?) still has at least 2 or 3 weeks left. They had quite a few snow days in Nashville, this year.

I would *love* to see photos of your Samantha!!! Wish you posted more kitty pics, really. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-6868005868700210252011-05-21T14:24:00.915-05:002011-05-21T14:24:00.915-05:00Poor Kitty. Should be glad, feel a bit trapped as of late. She has huge eyes and they are wide when she's alert (as opposed to sleepy).

Library Girl,

I know! They're such big eyes. Umm, come to think of it, the blinds aren't doing too well. I've got blinds at least partly because I've always had cats and don't want to watch curtains get torn apart, but after a while they do calm down a bit. Could be a year or four till that happens, with my two spunky young'uns. If yours are is as young as mine, you might have a bit of a wait!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-30207727872899096442011-05-20T18:59:09.433-05:002011-05-20T18:59:09.433-05:00Lol, her eyes look like they're going to burst...Lol, her eyes look like they're going to burst out of her head! Whenever my cat gets like that, she destroys the living room blinds just a little more. I console myself by telling myself that, once she's less likely to climb them, I'm going to get myself curtains. Of course, that might not get to happen for many years, but it still makes me feel a little better.A Library Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06144279685884011943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-2813547640890427492011-05-20T16:52:38.166-05:002011-05-20T16:52:38.166-05:00She looks terrified! She looks terrified!Carehttp://bkclubcare.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-53720636793168593702011-05-20T16:03:42.099-05:002011-05-20T16:03:42.099-05:00Aw...poor Fi :pAw...poor Fi :pchrisa511https://www.blogger.com/profile/05793512698366676453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-80509045853496907802011-05-20T14:43:06.647-05:002011-05-20T14:43:06.647-05:00Jenny,

Fiona doesn't mind other kitties walking by but Isabel flings herself bodily at the window when the neighborhood cats come near. I know what you mean. I had to go outside in my underwear and chase the other cat away.
