I have a lovely toad photo that I took last week, when I was gardening and scared the poor thing. :) I'll have to look up the Reptile Gardens.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-14088995313993183532007-05-01T12:13:00.000-05:002007-05-01T12:13:00.000-05:00I love snakes! I'm making a point of going back to see that. It has a nice website, too.kookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00994570192941993135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-72606827503222641652007-05-01T10:13:00.000-05:002007-05-01T10:13:00.000-05:00Chris,They're just so darned cute, aren't they? S...Chris,

They're just so darned cute, aren't they? Same here; the lizards are out en force in our area. No junebugs yet, thank goodness. Those things are a nuisance!

I'm loving Estella's Revenge, too; it has such a nice variety of articles, reviews and interviews. Loads of fun reading. And, thanks. :)

Hey Andi,

Thank you, ma'am.

You're so funny. I don't mind those lizards coming in my house, as long as I'm able to catch them and put them back outside where they belong. They're cute, but they do scurry. LOL

And, I agree 100%. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl is so vivid you can almost hear the nasty master whispering in her ear and the crack of the whip. It's so hard to believe that kind of thing took place here. Vicksburg used to be surrounded by cotton plantations.

Jenclair,

I think those little lizards are one of the exciting things about the South - they're loads of fun to watch. That fellow did, in fact, dull himself down while I was shooting his photo.

Yep, I missed the throat thing, too. He was blowing up his throat a few days ago, trying to get the attention of the little brown lizard girl, I guess. By the time I got my camera, he was done but they did seem to have a conversation going. Love your photo of them! It looks sweet rather than rude, I agree.

Kookie,

We have a lot of the little lizards around here; they're really common. You'd have fun watching them if you lived here, I'm sure. I've always been transfixed in the reptile house, myself. Funny. Do you like snakes?Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-71957736312835328402007-05-01T08:38:00.000-05:002007-05-01T08:38:00.000-05:00I love lizards. That's a nice one.kookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00994570192941993135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-74777495737615588742007-05-01T06:42:00.000-05:002007-05-01T06:42:00.000-05:00I love that shade of green, too, and the way chame...I love that shade of green, too, and the way chameleons change color and dull themselves down to brown. I've tried and tried to catch them when they do the "throaty" action, but by the time I get my camera, it is too late.

Last year, however, I did catch them in an intimate pose. Or I would think so until it scurried in or near my house. *screech* I'm such a girl.

As for Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl....AMAZING book.

AndiEstellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01430574682284367416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-32908562499731893672007-04-30T22:35:00.000-05:002007-04-30T22:35:00.000-05:00Haha!
