I chose to stay at home and the problem is that I didn't develop a support network. I didn't *have* to have babysitting help, so I never got time off for me. My working sister always had someone to dump her kids on, even when she went grocery shopping. I thought that was a little extreme -- never taking your kid to the grocery store, but mine went absolutely everywhere with me. Sleep goes first, then the sanity. LOL

Oh, yes. I read in the car during pick-ups and drop-offs at school and kid events. Anything you can squeeze in!!

Maggie,

Of course not! I think that would be great!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It makes no sense to me why anyone teases other people, *ever*. Usually, running is a very supportive sport. Shame on those guys! You should get back to running just to prove nobody can stop you from doing what you love. So there to the twerps.

Your hubby is right. Read The Feast of Love. I read a couple paragraphs aloud to my husband, last night. That doesn't happen often. It'll blow you away, seriously.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-32725800604284459122009-01-19T22:53:00.000-06:002009-01-19T22:53:00.000-06:00I'm so excited about your marathon makeover! Would...I'm so excited about your marathon makeover! Would you be offended if I did it too?

I ran two half marathons and one 15-miler back in '94 training for the Memphis Marathon. I tried getting back into it last year, but at my first race (ran the whole way) the finish line guys actually made fun of my gait, and didn't even pat me on the back for finishing! I came back and cried and threw my shoes in the back of my closet and said enough.

Feeling like a slug now, and my butt only covers Tennessee length wise! :D

Hubby has been after me for years to read The Feast of Love. When I moan about nothing to read he goes and gets it off the shelf. You make it sound so good, maybe I'll read it next month. :Dmaggie moranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02462439415973311990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-89731574973124902802009-01-19T22:39:00.000-06:002009-01-19T22:39:00.000-06:00Not just the working people...but the working peop...Not just the working people...but the working people WITH kids!!! How do they do it??? I know that when hubby and I eventually go down that path something is gonna have to give. But what?? Don't want to think about that right now. I'm thinking probably sleep, though. Or sanity?? :)

I get to work 30-45 minutes early in the morning and read in my car. I try to read for a little bit at lunch. That way, my nose isn't stuck in the book when I'm at home and on a night like tonight hubby is watching TV and I've got the laptop so I can catch up on my blogging and at least be in the same room as hubby. There just isn't enough time!!Trish @ Love, Laughter, Insanityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17225576485797030511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-32027343014501806792009-01-19T22:26:00.000-06:002009-01-19T22:26:00.000-06:00Wendy,Any time!Trish,You're one up on me. In my defense, the husband was home, today, and he put cabinets in the utility room. Man, can that guy make a mess! I couldn't even get to my washer and dryer. He buried them!! So, tomorrow . . . big laundry day.

Yeah, it's hard to fit the exercise in and keep up with everything else. Truly, I don't know how you working people do it. I didn't read today, merely because I'm trying to catch up with other bloggers' posts (and keep my husband from killing any of us with the things he's dropping in the middle of the floor).

Chris,

It was kind of half that you work in a psychiatric hospital and half that you're eager for my insane posts . . . so, 2 + 2 = 5. Obviously, you need therapy. :)

I can't say a single thing about obsessive-compulsive book collecting because I am simply The Worst!!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-62056797079839974382009-01-19T22:08:00.000-06:002009-01-19T22:08:00.000-06:00No need to apologize Bookfool, I probably do need ...No need to apologize Bookfool, I probably do need my head examined for numerous reasons :p Like why I keep bringing so many books into this house!!chrisa511https://www.blogger.com/profile/05793512698366676453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-30540120505255794672009-01-19T21:51:00.000-06:002009-01-19T21:51:00.000-06:00LOL--I'm one of those working types who is trying ...LOL--I'm one of those working types who is trying to figure out *everyone* does it. I don't have anything you could refer to as a "coffee table", but I decided I wanted to leave the book out in plain view, so it's on a tabletop. A fat little end table, I guess.
