We used to be able to get it as high as SPF 100, but they gradually stopped selling that; I'm assuming most people didn't want that level of protection. I did; I'm too fair-skinned to ever attempt to tan.

So far, hubby hasn't said anything at all about the weather. He's probably enjoying the cool air; we're like brisk temps and get very tired of our endless summers. What are your favorite months, weather-wise? I always tell people to come to Mississippi in April or October, usually our two best months because they're pretty but not too hot.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-47715581194631835202007-06-25T07:55:00.000-05:002007-06-25T07:55:00.000-05:00You have SPF 50 over there? Amazingly, here in Australia we only go up to 30.

If you're wishing you were here, just remember: winter is a lousy time of year to visit Melbourne and hubby has probably been both cold and damp. Come in late spring or early autumn - and bring the SPF 50!Amat Librishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01343725194203848055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-27264818789989569052007-06-23T11:06:00.000-05:002007-06-23T11:06:00.000-05:00Me, too. You won't regret it, I promise.

Goodness, I could do without that kind of experience. Not that we don't have enough things jumping out at us. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-27439988523147285052007-06-22T23:38:00.000-05:002007-06-22T23:38:00.000-05:00Oo! Australia! I would love to go there. Bugs, ...Oo! Australia! I would love to go there. Bugs, snakes and all.

I would like to read Great Expectations one day. I read Oliver Twist years ago and loved it--my English teacher told me it was the Dicken's child's book and that his other work is so much better. One day I'll find out for myself . . . :-)

I found a black widow while I was cleaning the sunroom one day a few weeks ago. She was hidden behind our gate-legged table. Since hubby wasn't around, I had to be the brave soul who stepped into save the animals and myself from her wrath. She looked really mean too.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-73250088700509239042007-06-21T16:26:00.000-05:002007-06-21T16:26:00.000-05:00Angela,I hope you like them as much as I do. I actually read the seasonal short story in Holiday Wishes, first, but I was hooked. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-24725061272965026122007-06-21T13:12:00.000-05:002007-06-21T13:12:00.000-05:00I'm going to have to grab that Teddi Bayer series!...I'm going to have to grab that Teddi Bayer series!Angela/SciFiChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03207325369810773405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-26147962383119789082007-06-21T09:25:00.000-05:002007-06-21T09:25:00.000-05:00Anon,I searched all over the place and couldn't lo...Anon,

I searched all over the place and couldn't locate our copy of In a Sunburned Country, darn it. Might have to let the husband buy an Australian copy, so he can enjoy it while he's there. I'd rather go there than have him bring back a souvenir, but I'm sending him with a list of books I want him to bring back (I haven't been able to get my mitts on the Ellie Chronicles books by John Marsden, yet, for example); and, in the last year or so, I've just asked him to bring home bookmarks. The Italian bookmarks are really pretty leather ones.

Yep, you're a real Southerner, all right, you fudge-loving thing. LOL You'd like that book.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-14445984211544149492007-06-20T16:10:00.000-05:002007-06-20T16:10:00.000-05:00Now Australia?! That would've ended gardening for good for me.

I love the title of that Christmas book! Hilarious! Fudge is one of my favorite gifts to get for Christmas. I get ridiculously excited when someone gives me a tin of fudge. Yeah, I'm from the south ;)chrisa511https://www.blogger.com/profile/05793512698366676453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-11100832358250049952007-06-20T15:32:00.000-05:002007-06-20T15:32:00.000-05:00I know; I'm not really standing it. I can visualize him bringing home two small male crocodiles, stuffed. Or something of that nature. LOL Yeah, I'd have a blast and take a million pictures. But, it's not going to happen.

7 out of 10? Wow, okay. Definitely need the snake-bite kit. He'll be in the desert, actually, most of the time - with stops in Melbourne, to and fro. I was hoping he'd just drag me along and drop me off in some nice Australian city. Sigh.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-76651982567669558952007-06-20T15:27:00.000-05:002007-06-20T15:27:00.000-05:00Australia? You, in particular, would get some great pictures out of that trip. :)

That's funny about the snake bites though, I've heard that Australia has 7 out of 10 of the world's most venomous snakes, or something like that. I'd stick to the cities.kookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00994570192941993135noreply@blogger.com
