Why My "Now Reading" Button Says "Temporarily Unavailable"

Now permanently unavailable.  Here's why:

I originally decided to stop posting images of current reads when we were packing to move.  I've found that looking at my sidebar when the same titles linger for weeks sometimes freaks me out and I feel oddly pressured to finish a book if it's showing in my sidebar.  I know it's weird, but that's just one of me.  After a few months of not having to worry about removing images of books I couldn't get into, I've decided to continue not posting images of current reads.

As always, a book's image will remain in the sidebar until I've written about the book. I'll still continue to mention what I'm reading and what has arrived in the mailbox in Monday Malarkey posts.

    1. Thanks, Jenny! I feel better, already. It's nice not to look at the sidebar and see the covers of books that have been there seemingly forever!!!

  2. I've abandoned the constant updates of my "currently reading" note in the sidebar, too. Just too occupied to update it all the time. Good luck moving!!

    1. Oh, good, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I keep starting books and setting them aside, so I just figured it's best to only put what I've managed to finish in the sidebar. But, it is a bit of a nuisance updating all the time, too. Sometimes I forget . . .

    1. We're still trying to figure out how we're going to go about that. Use the cabinets in the bedrooms for shelves and get a normal dresser? Have someone build shelves along three walls? Anyway, it'll be fun. I'm thinking of this move as an adventure. :)

  4. Okey, dokey, Piñata Clokey (as my husband says. At 51 years of age). Anyway, I hope your packing/moving goes Easy-Peasy, Lemon-Squeezy.

Bought a card of balls for the kitties. Sammy seems to like them, but apparently not terribly much more than other round things she finds around the house. Last night we woke to the sound of a green m & m skittering around our bedroom floor. Time to fire that maid (who's on Summer vacation from teaching).

    1. That's a new one to me. LOL Thanks. Not easy-peasy, at this point, because we've been settled for so long. We have *way* too much stuff. But, we're getting there. It's nice to thin out the possessions.

You might have to shove the balls a bit to get Sammy interested. Isabel still plays with her jingle balls a lot, but there are times that she wants me to roll a ball for her to chase. This past week, though, it's been too quiet. She's playing but nowhere near as much, poor thing. I think she's still recovering. She did play with a penny, this morning. That was pretty funny. No m & m's, though. Silly Bellezza. I'm sure there are some really frightening things under the bed. Not looking forward to finding out what's under there -- my maid sucks. *looks in mirror, shaking head*

    1. LOL I keep missing a lot, too, since I often just swing in, write a post and rush off. I had no idea you were moving till I saw the pics of your house. We're moving 35 miles east, to a bedroom community a little closer to the Big City. We've wanted to move there for a long time, primarily for the leash laws and sidewalks (neither of which we have here) and access to college classes. But, we waited till Kiddo graduated to start looking and it took us 2 years to find the right house. Thanks! It's going to be a slow process. We close next week, but then we're going to paint a few walls before starting to move things in. And, we haven't sold our current home so we'll spend a few months getting it ready to sell. Should be interesting! :)

  6. I can totally understand your lack of concentration, and can relate, so just take all the time you need. It's ok to be scattered sometimes. I hope the packing and move go well.

    1. Heather! You're back!!!! I missed you!

Thanks. There may come a point that I'll have to take an extended break to get things accomplished quicker. I am very scattered. Trying to focus on specific things (this week: boxing and donating clothing and delivering book donations) so that I don't waste time going from one chore to another without finishing any. I've been known to do that. :)

    1. I'll still mention what I'm reading on Mondays -- in my Malarkey posts. But, only the Lord will know whether or not I'm going to finish them. LOL This next few months will really be something, I'm sure!

    1. Thanks, Ann! So far, so good!! The kitties will probably move over tonight. We've didn't want to worry about little paws walking through paint. All done painting and now we just have what looks like a hurricane to clean up after (the easiest stuff to pack went first, so there are loose things all over the old house). Squeee! :)
