This is so bizarre I'm still laughing about it a week after it happened. I ordered two pairs of cute flip-flops and when they arrived the cats went completely nutso over them, rubbing against them, rolling over with a shoe in their paws, talking to them. You'd think they were laced with catnip.
"Look what I caught, Mom!"
When Isabel sank her claws into the glittery fabric portion of one shoe, I tried to unhook her claws and we had a new experience: Izzy tried to nip me and swiped at my hand. Goodness. She takes loving on flip-flops very seriously.
After their furry christening, the cats moved on to other adventures, thank goodness. I was afraid they were going to become a sacrifice to appease the princesses.

Yellow Box is too good a brand to let them become cat toys :-)
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty terrific, I agree. Fortunately, the shoe nuzzling was short-lived.
DeleteMy cat little baby loves to love on and chew on some of my mom's sandals. For some reason he really leaves most of mine alone. lol
ReplyDeleteSame here but usually it's my husband's shoes that get all the love. No chewing, thank goodness.
DeleteI never heard of cats being attracted to flip flops. Dogs, yes. Cats, no. Charming post!
