Love the pirate bendy image. I hope you all enjoy the book as much as I did!!!! <BR/><BR/>Les, I know just what you mean. I had the same problem with Maeve Binchy's book, London Transports. The characters would grow on me and then - bang - the stories ended. <BR/><BR/>The difference, I think, with John's stories is that the length seems right to me. You get a feel for the characters but there's more emphasis on the question "What happened here?" or "What's about to happen?" They're more action-oriented. I usually think I've got John's little twists figured out and then he sneaks in some surprise and fools me, again. I love that. <BR/><BR/>I can't wait to hear what everone thinks about the book!!
