I'm feeling better, thanks!!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1165103085087712312006-12-02T17:44:00.000-06:002006-12-02T17:44:00.000-06:00Ohhh, bookfool,so sorry to hear about the migraine...Ohhh, bookfool,so sorry to hear about the migraine. I read in the newspapers the other day that migraine sufferers are like human barometers - you tend to suffer from these throbbing headaches anytime there's a big change in the weather. Do feel better soon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1165094046633312602006-12-02T15:14:00.000-06:002006-12-02T15:14:00.000-06:00Hi Lotus,Anderson Cooper sounds like such an inter...Hi Lotus,

Anderson Cooper sounds like such an interesting man. As you noted, far from taking advantage of being a Vanderbilt heir, he has little interest in owning things or even having a permanent place to settle much less just living off his inheritance or using it to his advantage. He really seems like a person of strong character. However, you'll note that he had to work for that job - it wasn't handed to him on a platter. I think you'll find it interesting. The armchair traveling is always fun and certainly much better than actually being out there and having to duck when the snipers start shooting.

I hope I'll make it to your blog, soon. I did a little blog-hopping, last night, and everything was soooo slooow. Today, I'm nursing a migraine, doing nothing but a little housework and reading. It's so nice and cold that it feels like time to curl up and read. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1165070847928334852006-12-02T08:47:00.000-06:002006-12-02T08:47:00.000-06:00This does look like a great book, bookfool, I will...This does look like a great book, bookfool, I will definitely have to buy or borrow a copy. Since I don't get to watch him on television all that much I would love to travel with him, through his book, to all these places of conflict and hear his views on the situations there. I also would love to find out what makes him to do this. When he can choose to have a life of comfort being a celebrated TV anchor and son of Gloria Vanderbilt, what drives him to travel to these remote and very often, dangerous places? This book seems like a good opportunity to get to know Anderson Cooper, the reporter and the man.

Like Les, I am thrilled to have you back online. Hope to see you in my neighborhood soon! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1164990910886898312006-12-01T10:35:00.000-06:002006-12-01T10:35:00.000-06:00Thanks, Angela. :)Thanks, Angela. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1164986332295528662006-12-01T09:18:00.000-06:002006-12-01T09:18:00.000-06:00great review.. sounds good!great review.. sounds good!Angela/SciFiChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03207325369810773405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1164944946160641342006-11-30T21:49:00.000-06:002006-11-30T21:49:00.000-06:00I'd love to see Anderson Cooper, now that I've rea...I'd love to see Anderson Cooper, now that I've read the book. There was an excerpt in some magazine, a few months ago, and that's what piqued (sp?) my interest. I thought you'd like that quote about loss.

Thanks for both the compliment and the welcome back. It's yucky being offline, even for a day!!!!!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-1164943041504863252006-11-30T21:17:00.000-06:002006-11-30T21:17:00.000-06:00This one slipped under my radar. Sounds like a great read (I love memoirs), not only for the stories Cooper follows and reports on (I have seen him on CNN and he is very passionate about his subject matter), but also for the manner in which he comes to grips with his grief. I especially like the quote you shared about his reaction to recovering from his loss. And the crack about Obei Wan is priceless! Excellent review. Glad you're back online.Leshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08345657431432380804noreply@blogger.com
