I wanted to add that the book is being developed as a limited series (6-8 hrs) for television. It has also been translated into a dozen languages, and when the paperback edition came out a month ago it hit the New York Times paperback bestseller list. It was really my honor to tell the story of The Ritchie Boys. I'm often a slow reader when it comes to history, so I get you. It's not dry, though. It's a very good read. It just takes some effort keeping the individuals straight in your head. Once they arrive in America, you know them pretty well, but I did occasionally find myself mixing a couple of the guys and having to stop to think, "OK, so-and-so is the one whose family had another boy and girl and whose father [smuggled his funds out of the country/was imprisoned for no apparent reason], right?" or something to that effect. But, that was rare because I really did feel like I got to know them as individuals. Maybe a mini series on Netflix? I’m not great at reading historical books. Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05738740015526095835noreply@blogger.com
