I think you'll love it, when you get around to reading A Good American.

Oh, I don't know if I'd read The Passage right after The Stand! That would be a bit too much chunksterness for me. I did love The Passage, though. Think I read it in about 3 days--which is pretty quick for me, considering the size. On the Beach is very thought-provoking. I've got A Town Like Alice (or is it "called Alice?") and my book group is going to read it for our July selection. Wahoo!

Heh, I stay up way too late reading all the time. I'm hoping she'll send it out to me, so I can read it sometime this summer. Or at the rate I'm going, next summer! ;)

I have a copy of The Passage (in hardcover) that I need to dig out from under the huge stacks of ARCs (I think it was a promo copy that arrived at the store in hardcover) and dive in. After I finish re-reading The Stand. Hmmm. That could take a while. And I really do want to read Shute's On the Beach, as well as some of his others. I was looking at photos from BEA, though, this morning . . . OMG, it's just like any other big trade fair. Freebies aside, I think those things are kind of miserable. Always so intensely crowded, you know? I'm only getting my mitts on an ARC because I'm fortunate to have a friend who doesn't want to keep hers. Tammy is a peach. :)

I know what you mean. I am absolutely terrible about reading chunksters. But, for some reason The Passage just called to me.
