I think I only keep mine up because I like having a record of what I've read and I definitely won't bother writing about books merely for myself, like journaling.

The Mueller Report is worth reading and I haven't given up hope that it will lead to change, but I think the new attorney general caused the biggest hope to sputter and die, then the press totally fell down on the job when Mueller testified. He made some blockbuster statements that they chose to ignore because he stuck to the facts and sounded like an old guy. There's a lot of very damaging information in that thing. Mostly, though, you get really tired of Orange Bonespur's temper tantrums and lack of respect for law, ethics, rules, truth, and pretty much everyone around him. I can't imagine how or why anyone works for him. Half the time they say they'll do something and then just . . . don't. Because they know it would be the wrong thing to do. Anyway, more about that, soon.

I feel the same about the readathon. I was very happy to have read two books, especially after a week in which I'd finished only one. I don't normally participate because my husband travels and weekends are family time, but it worked out because he was going to be home for an entire week, so we knew there would be plenty of time to spend together. I was glad to go out and hang with him, once I realized I wasn't going to finish Rosie Colored Glasses quite in time (I came close). I wondered if anyone noticed that I'd just wandered off. LOL I had a great time. Glad you enjoyed it and got what you wanted out of it, too!Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-67858690426994278412019-08-11T09:05:19.637-05:002019-08-11T09:05:19.637-05:00Yay for book blogs still being relevant. I just do...Yay for book blogs still being relevant. I just don't have the attention span for long books and since nothing has come of the Mueller report, and I doubt it ever will, I don't think I'll bother read it. To me, it would be like reading the Warren Commission or the 9/11 report. I was wondering what happened with your readathon. I don't get a lot of hours in myself but I figure if I get a little bit of reading, it's all good...and it was. Two books finished.Bryan G.
