I was hoping the audio book would help me on my long commute to work. I loved it until they got to NY but after that it became too boring & too descriptive to keep me interested without the ability to flip the pages. To me, though, over 350 pages is getting up there. I'm not very patient, period.

It's pretty, isn't it? Love that cover art. Just flat envious that husband got to photograph something so pretty. He said if/when he goes back to that city, he'll take me (now that he knows his way around) but who knows if that'll ever happen! I've heard that one a few too many times, I'm afraid.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-26365182990121727332012-04-19T14:51:52.188-05:002012-04-19T14:51:52.188-05:00Did someone say a blogger meet up in Italy??!! ;) ...Did someone say a blogger meet up in Italy??!! ;) if someone handles the plannimg, I'll go!

I'm going to try to get this on audio. It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure I disliked the heroine in The Queen of the Big Time. I loved Ciro and Enza. As quick a reader as you are, I'd say The Shoemaker's Wife is probably not a bad place to start. It just depends on whether or not you mind the wordiness. If you do, I'd go for something else. My most devoted Trigiani-fan friend always recommends the Big Stone Gap series.Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29370872.post-75485536763883098732012-04-18T11:27:22.388-05:002012-04-18T11:27:22.388-05:00It might actually be more enjoyable on audio. I'm not an audio fan because I prefer a cast performance -- single narrators tend to really bug me -- but I have a feeling this one would adapt well to audio. Thanks! So pretty!

I don't think it's your kind of book, actually. The length was too much for me, but there was a lot I liked about The Shoemaker's Wife, so I have no regrets. I forgot to mention what a terrific sense of humor the author has.
