Rainy days are not my best days
I finished The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific by J. Maarten Troost, yesterday, and have been just sitting here staring at the computer, unable to write a word. This is unusual for me and I think I can just chalk it up to the fact that I don't handle rainy days well. I love the cool and the rain - it's really very pleasant outside - but rainy days make me moody because of an inner-ear fluid imbalance that's not worth talking about. Anyway, not meaning to bore anyone to death, I'll keep this short and hope to get a review of the Troost book up by tomorrow. I'm going to read and watch more Firefly. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I use comment moderation because apparently my blog is a spam magnet. Don't worry. If you're not a robot, your comment will eventually show up and I will respond, with a few exceptions. If a comment smacks of advertising, contains a dubious link or is offensive, it will be deleted. I love to hear from real people! I'm a really chatty gal and I love your comments!
Awww, Nancy, I sympathize, rainy days, especially if they go on and on, are no fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope your afternoon is looking better.
Will visit you for the Troost review tomorrow.
:( Hope you feel better soon. Firefly's gotta cheer you up :). Great picture by the way!
ReplyDeleteguess it is good that you don't live in the Pacific Northwest - too many rainy days in a row are hard on me too
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lotus!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is supposed to improve, tomorrow. I got my weather report from the greeter at Walmart; she was right about the rain (which started about 20 minutes after I left the store). I'm much happier now that I've watched some episodes of Firefly.
See you tomorrow, then!!
Chris,
Thanks! :) Firefly definitely cheered me up. I love that show. In fact, anything is an excuse to break out the camera and I actually played with it on shutter-preferred to see what setting works for taking photos off the TV, so I've got some cute photos of the actors. Too fun!
And, thank you - I was going to use a photo I took during Katrina but decided it didn't look like much - just a bunch of bent trees and limbs all over the place! LOL
Juliann,
Yep, I think it's a good thing I live in the sunny South; I think the darkness alone would get to anyone, after a time. There's a great quote about that in Sleepless in Seattle, when Tom Hanks decides he's moving and his brother (?) gives him a flat look and says, "It rains nine months a year in Seattle." Remember that one?
feel better!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nik. It's not supposed to continue raining, today, fingers crossed. I had to get up at 5:00 to get the kiddo to school for a band festival. I think I'll go back to bed for a while!!
