It has moments of levity, but I wouldn't call it "funny". Fiona has a dubious sense of humor. I'm pretty sure she laughs when I'm not looking. Ha! Isabel just attacked a can of Diet Mt. Dew!
I have, and I really liked it. It doesn't top my list of favourites though - The Winter Sea still if my absolute favourite with The Rose Garden close behind!
I LOVED The Winter Sea! And, I really did get swept up in Mariana. I couldn't put it down, last night. I've got two more Kearsley books and one of them is The Rose Garden. Yippee! I'm glad that's one of your two favorites. The other is The Shadowy Horses.
Shadowy Horses is my third favourite so you will still enjoy that one! Her next book is going to feature a character from The Shadowy Horses and a character from The Winter Sea apparently

I'll trust Fiona. Cats have good taste, right?
ReplyDeleteExceptional. They adore Persephone Books. ;)
DeleteWell, I hope it's a funny book or Fiona has a weird sense of humor. ;)

DeleteI recommend a lot of Kearsley's books but you are right, I didn't really expect to see such a recommendation from a cat!
ReplyDeleteShe's an especially talented and discerning creature, our Fi. Have you read Mariana? I am loving it!

DeleteOh, good! I won't get to it right away, but I'm glad to know The Shadowy Horses is well up on your favorites list, too. Very cool about the next book!
DeleteI have had this book for YEARS...and now I simply must read it since it's a Fiona recommendation. I mean, what higher praise could a book enjoy??? :)
ReplyDeleteExactly. On with it, Tammy. Incidentally, Fi's human also strongly recommends the book. ;)
