Monday Malarkey will return next week
We're spending a relaxing day enjoying the Labor Day holiday so in lieu of a malarkey post, you get yet another flashback kitty photo -- of Izzy when she was so new to us that she fit in one hand (which is how she earned one of her nicknames, "Tiny"). I pre-scheduled a book review for tomorrow, last week, in order to keep today free. Best to all!

Thank you for visiting my blog! I use comment moderation because apparently my blog is a spam magnet. Don't worry. If you're not a robot, your comment will eventually show up and I will respond, with a few exceptions. If a comment smacks of advertising, contains a dubious link or is offensive, it will be deleted. I love to hear from real people! I'm a really chatty gal and I love your comments!
Happy belated birthday!! Hope you had a great day, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Les!
DeleteAwwwww!!! So adorable!!! Charli, the little stray that has attached herself to me is VERY pregnant and I don't know what the hell I'm going to do :/ I know I'm going to get her spayed after she has these kittens, but in the meantime....My allergies seem to actually be adjusting some to her. Yesterday she spent 8 hours in my apartment! Which is a lot for her. She's getting a lot more comfortable. But I seriously can NOT have kittens in my apartment nor would I even know what to do :/ I've set up a box with old towels just in case she happens to pop while she's visiting though...sigh....I wish there was an easy answer, lol. Thanks for listening to my thinking aloud ahead of time :p
ReplyDeleteOh, Chris, I think the first thing I'd do is take her to the vet to get her checked. It sounds like she's scoping out your place for giving birth, so that's a very good idea making her a spot, just in case. You might want to put it in a quiet corner and show it to her. Cats are smart. I will say if you're nervous about a cat giving birth in your home, it wouldn't hurt to get a carrier and see if you can temporarily leave her at a rescue (be sure to find a no-kill shelter) because it's not unusual for people to drop off pregnant cats and that means they tend to be experienced with the care of tiny kittens. Or, you can just ask the vet or people at the rescue for advice (doesn't sound like your preferred option). You'll need to know what to do and not do during those first weeks and when the kittens will be old enough to be ready for adoption. Exciting and a little scary!!!
DeleteYou might want to put THE BOX in a quiet corner and show it to her, I mean. :)
DeleteHope you all - humans and kitties - had a lovely weekend. I was thinking about you and when you visited in a Sept for SVB... (talking with a friend abt how UNAFRAID I am to meet people IRL that I've met on the internet!)
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I'm going back to school? Today feels like LAST FREE DAY. ha
We had a great weekend but Huzzybuns, poor thing, cut himself badly on a mandoline slicer, yesterday. I haven't seen that much blood since he cut himself when we were newlyweds and required stitches but this time he just sheered off part of his finger and fingernail so there was nothing to stitch! Poor guy. The rest of the weekend was great. LOL
DeleteHa, funny, internet buddies have turned out to be the coolest people IRL, so far! I've loved meeting up with you and Cindi and Amy and Nat. I need to go somewhere else exciting, when we're no longer dealing with an extra house. Boston and Japan were pretty awesome and Charleston was awful darn fun, too! :)
Oops, yes, you did tell me you're going back to school! I wondered when you're starting. Best of luck to you, Carrie!
