Good morning!

I completely forgot Fiona Friday, so here you go. A quick shot. I may post another pic, later, but there's nothing like a cat by a kimchi pot in the morning to get you fired up.

It's 6:42 am and dark as night in my home territory. I've fed the cats, eaten my Frosted Mini Wheats (dry - I confess, I am too shattered to pour water into a bowl to make oatmeal) and I'm preparing to start reading in approximately 17 minutes. I'll be starting with The Making of a Gentleman by Shana Galen because I'm enjoying it so much that I want to finish it!

More later! Happy reading to all!!

  1. Will you be readathoning with us today Ms. Bookfool?? Regardless, Fiona is a beauty. Have a wonderful day.

  2. Stopping by to offer a cheer: *\o/* and have a great readathon!

  3. Hi, Fiona! Hi, Nancy!

I see you're reading Dewey's Nine Lives, too, (or will be). Aren't they the most beautiful stories? Rarely has a book made me literally cry, but this one does. I plan on reviewing for its release on October 12, but I want to say that you, Bookfool friend, are a big reason why I love cats so much now.

When we first started blogging, not so much. But, through your stories, through the gift my son's girlfriend gave us of Samantha, I'm 'converted'. Thank you. XOXO

  4. Trish,

Yes, ma'am. I just finished my first book! Very excited. :)

    Thank you!

Hello from both of us! I'm perched on the end of my chair because Fiona has claimed it while I'm off reading. :)

Isn't Dewey's Nine Lives awesome? It's had me in tears a few times, too. I'm so glad I had a hand in converting you into a cat lover. I get so much joy and affection from my own two girls. Have fun reading Dewey!

  5. (Non)traditional Buddhist readathon blessing:

Just as the books fill the shelves,
Pile together on the floor and stack up on the table
So may the joy of the readathon
Flow forth to brighten your day and lift your spirit.
Books already read, books in progress and books yet to be read.

By the power of every word on the page
    May your book be delightful,
    As scary as Lovecraft’s Cthulhu
Or as sweet as a box of See’s candy.

Let the power of the images evoked by words
Keep you stay awake long through the night
    May no obstacle impede
    Your day filled with books.

For all of those who are reading today
Who follow in the path of Dewey
May your day be filled with the four blessings
Of fabulous books, tasty snacks, comfy chairs and joy.

  6. Softdrink,

You worked hard on that and I appreciate it, except for the fact that now I'm craving some of that See's candy. LOL Thanks! One book down!

  7. Great breakfast choice - I LOVE dry frosted mini wheats! Of course, not being able to have milk forces me to :) Cute kitty!

  8. Amy,

They're great dry, just the right size to eat as finger food. Can't drink milk, eh? I hate milk, so we don't ever seem to have any in the house, now that Kiddo's off at school. I used to have to buy 2 gallons a week. Thanks! I love that picture of Fi. I think she looks like a cat that belongs in a room with nice furniture. LOL

  9. She looks so majestic!

  10. Kathy,

Fiona just happened to walk in as I was reading your message, so I read it to her aloud. I swear she gave me a very regal grin. :)
