Kitty kisses

I've begun my review of The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes, but the draft will have to sit till tomorrow because I have my very first face-to-face book club meeting, tonight!! And, I haven't actually finished reading the book. I have 4 hours. Think I can do it? I'm off to read, but I thought I'd share some kitty kisses with you. This little interaction between Izzy and Fi degenerated into a wrestling match, although it started out cute.

  2. Thanks, Kathy! I'll report on it, tomorrow. I'm so excited. I don't know if I'll finish the book, but the group leader said they encourage people to come, whether they've managed to finish or not.

  6. Do we have any doubt you'll not finish the book in time? Have a great time at the *real-time* book club.

  7. Too cute for words :D Oh I so hope that your book club went well :D Sounds exciting!!! I've been wanting to join a book club too! The trouble is, I work the evening shift at work which pretty much destroys any opportunity to do a book club :( They have a great one here too for 30 somethings (I'm almost there!) called Booze and Books! They meet at a local bar and have cocktails and talk about books. I'd so love to join but they always meet while I'm at work :(

and HAPPY FIRST BOOK CLUB MEETING!! awesome. I hope it is everything and more that you expect and dream of. Friends to discuss books with. What could be better?! (besides kitty kisses, I mean)

  9. Iliana,

It was such fun! I'll share more, later. This is a week of many errands.

    Cindi,

Believe it or not, I didn't finish. In the midst of reading, I took a lovely nap. But, that's okay. I haven't been sleeping well and I had a super time, anyway. Nobody expected me to speak up because I was new. :)

    Chris,

I've had similar problems to yours, in the past. Now that I don't have kid events and Mom chauffeuring to do, it's much easier to find the time. Books and Booze - LOL. That definitely sounds like the group for you. I hope you can join in, someday. You won't be on the late shift forever, will you?

    Care,

Faulty Assumption #1: Nancy can read fast enough to cram at the last minute. ;) I fell asleep somewhere in there. I have to take my naps when they grab me, so I tried caffeine and then gave in. But, I still had a great time. I've never been around so many people who are passionate about their reading at the same time. It was pretty amazing. More on that, later. Gotta run my errands.

  10. I love the kitty pics! I really enjoyed Ship of Brides but haven't written my review yet. I'm even further behind on my book reviews this week because I came down with another illness. Hopefully I'm done being sick for a year (or two).

  11. Alyce,

Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed The Ship of Brides. I never did make it back to finishing the review because I'm fighting a vicious migraine. It'll just have to wait. Tomorrow, I have a scheduled review I haven't started, but I'm heading to bed. Blecch. Hope you're about done with fall illnesses.
