Because I'm pleased with myself, you get another cat picture (of Izzy watching leaves fly -- another "older" photo because I am still having difficulty loading new photographs).
I've been messing around with various blogger templates for days. All of them seemed to either squish things I didn't want squished or knock my sidebar items completely out of view. Finally, I realized there are some ways around the problems I was having, with this particular template (one of my favorites). And, voila!
There are still a lot of changes I want to make to the blog, but I was so sick of looking at my old template that I considered completely giving up blogging, just so I wouldn't have to look at it, anymore! Perhaps the new look will help. What do you think?

I like it. Very pretty, but also simple.
ReplyDeleteSimple is exactly what I was shooting for! Thanks, Jeane! I'm glad you like it. :)
DeleteI like it! The color is very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janel!
DeleteI like!! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Q! I'm very happy with it (for the moment). :)
DeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nikki! Hope you're enjoying your new home. I hear it's a little on the cold side!
DeleteFun new look, Nancy. Now with you and Les jumping into the 'play with my template' fray (well, maybe that's just me) I might not be the only one with a look "du jour". Although, I think I'm finally content with what I've arrived at. It does take a bit of playing around with, though, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bellezza! I don't know that I'll ever play with my look as much as you do! It was a bit of a nuisance just getting something to work. But, the header . . . yeah. That changes a lot. LOL Yes, it took a good bit of playing. And, there's more playing yet to be done.
DeleteI love it! I'm all for a fresh new look. I've been having so much fun with my new template. I've fallen back in love with blogging! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much a different look makes you feel, isn't it? Hopefully, this will help me out of my blogging slump. I've been blogging in fits and starts for a long, long time.
DeleteI think we all need some change now and then! I like the new look!
ReplyDeleteAlyce,
DeleteDefinitely. Change is good. I felt a little stuck, for a while. So relieved that I finally figured out the new template! Thanks!
I like the hummingbird. I'm sure Izzy does, too. :-D
ReplyDeleteMs. Fizz,
DeleteIzzy loves anything that moves, with one exception. She does not like big feet. Can't say I blame her. The guys do have an unfortunately tendency to bluster about without looking for small fur beings around their ankles.
Oh pretty! Sometimes that's all you need to get back in the groove.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chrisarama! I'm rather stunned how much changing the look of the blog has altered how I feel about blogging, actually. It's a good feeling. :)

Ooo, I like it lots! =D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Megan!
DeleteThat's great that you found a template that you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly! Funny that I finally figured it out right after we were talking about blog changes. :)
DeleteI like it! Ugh, I don't envy you, though. I hate trying to figure things out templates and HTML codes and all that.
ReplyDeleteJenny,
DeleteOnce I figured out you can shift the column depths, it was fairly easy. I just had to move the HTML for one item and the rest shoved itself into line. But, yeah . . . it took a while to reach that point and that was a bit of a pain. I'm glad I did it, though. Thanks!
I love the new template, and the photo. The template design is very bright, and I really like the colors. Good job with this one! I had tried to do this before, but it didn't work out so well for me!
ReplyDeleteZibilee,
DeleteThanks! I had trouble getting this one to work until I discovered there's a feature that allows you to alter the width of the columns. And, then the last problem I had was what to do with my little location map (which is normally at the bottom of my blog but got shoved into the sidebar). Once I figured out I could just move the HTML from that to a new location at the bottom of this template, I was set. Just pick a day or two when you're feeling patient to work on it. That was part of the trouble when I first looked at new templates. I couldn't sit still long enough to figure anything out!
LOVELY! This template is very you, Nancyroo!
ReplyDeleteLOL Thanks, Andiloo! I do believe you're right. :)
DeleteLove it...simple and elegant with a nice pop of color!
ReplyDelete♥Melissa
Thanks, Melissa! That's exactly what I was shooting for! :)
Delete'A Change Is As Good As A Rest' as the old saying goes.
ReplyDeleteThe new template looks good, clean, simple and easy to manage.
I keep thinking about making changes to Fiction Books, unfortunately hubbie is something of a techie, so all of his suggestions are way off the wall and far too complicated for my poor little brain to cope with.
I just know that one day I shall get home from work and he will have changed it without me even knowing ... then he will expect me to sit and work out how to use it for myself!!!
WATCH THIS SPACE!!
Have fun with the new look you,
Yvonne
Oh, I've heard that quote but I guess it's been so long I'd completely forgotten about it. Well, it's true. :)
DeleteThanks! Clean and simple is what I was going for and I love the color, so I'm very happy. Now, if I can just find a good stretch of time to write a review or two. Today is stacking up to be a busy one.
My husband is not a techie. I'd hoped he or one of the boys could help, but they're too busy. I think I'd sit down with my husband, if I were you, and see if you could get him to work with what you have in mind, if only to prevent him from frightening you with a surprise change! LOL
Very nice! I like the colour a lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marg! It's cheery, isn't it?
DeleteIf I mess with my stuff I will need more than "Pocket Therapist" that you have on the side-bar!!!! I need more than simple! I need a web-master, blog-miester! I love the change, but don't get me wrong, I like the way it was too. I'm just grateful to have you there reviewing, reading and sharing your kitty-pics!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your January.
I know what you mean, Gaye. I spent at least one frustrating day completely failing to figure out how to change my sidebar and I probably didn't handle it well. Fortunately, I'm like my cats when it comes to such things . . . I like to quickly forget and move on. LOL Thank you! I'm glad you like my blog, regardless. :)
DeleteWow! It looks beautiful!!!! It's been green for as long as I can remember (or possibly always). I hated my Trish's Reading Nook template. Was so glad to get away from it. ;) Now I'm trying to figure out what would happen if I delete the blog--will I lose any information from the posts I imported? Bah.
ReplyDeleteTrish,
DeleteThanks! Yes, I think it's always been green, although I may have changed the color briefly, a time or two. When I first started blogging, I had the green polka-dot background that was among the early templates. Obviously, I like green. :) I doubt you'll lose your imported information if you delete the old blog, but I'm not a techie, so . . . ignore me. My logic doesn't necessarily fit the real world.
It looks good!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie!
