Fiona Friday - Lap Kitty!!!!!

Oh, the excitement!  Fiona is becoming my lap kitty!  She will only lie on my lap if I have a blanket spread across my legs, but I'm okay with that.

Her ears were back because she was irritated about the camera.

Isabel and Kiddo are currently playing a game of "Chase the Nerf dart."  Kiddo shoots, Izzy bolts after the dart.  So cute.

    1. It was fun to watch. Isabel likes any excuse to run. Sometimes she'll chase jingle balls on her own, but she often prefers to have me roll them so she can really run hard when chasing them. Darts apparently serve the same purpose.

So thrilled to have a lap kitty! It took a while for Fi to become interested in laps. Too bad winter is over. I can't fake a cold lap much longer.

  2. My cat is such a lap cat. To the point of being irritating. ;-) Still, we love them, right?

    1. I know what you mean, Jenny. Our Spooky could be a little exhausting in her determination to climb onto the nearest available lap. We often felt like we were pinned down with no escape (shift and she'd just alter her position -- you really had to work to get her off your lap), but we loved her so much we'd stay in place until limbs went numb to keep her happy.

  4. The fake cat didn't become a lap cat until she got older. Now she can kind of be a pain in the butt about it. ;)

    1. Yeah, our Spooky was a bit of a pain. We all let her pin us down for hours at a time. Honestly, though, we miss that. Nuisance though it was, she made everyone feel loved. Kiddo was absolutely thrilled when Fiona climbed onto his lap, yesterday, for the first time *ever*. He's been a little critical of both kitties for not being as friendly as the last two.

  5. Aw, cute! Only one of my cats is a lap kitty. The other doesn't care for it.

    1. Same here. Well, as of the last month . . . but till then, Fiona rarely came anywhere near a lap. She tends to curl up beside legs in bed, but that's been about it. Isabel doesn't like to be held at all, although there are two specific times I can get away with picking her up. One is after I take a bath. That's her head-to-tail petting time and sometimes I can get away with picking her up and rubbing her neck for a bit. The other time is when she really, really wants to go out the back door. If I pick her up to let her look at the outdoors from a different angle, she'll enjoy herself briefly and then wail to be let down if I hold onto her too long.
