Wahoo! Wednesday

Oh, boy! I just love it when I'm doing Wahoo! Wednesdays as a regular feature of my blog because it makes me stop and think, "Wow, this is really worth celebrating," or laughing about, or whatever.

Things that make me want to say, "Wahoo!", today:

1. A cool front!!! Wahoo! I was so excited to wake up and find that it was actually cold enough to wear a jacket outside. A jacket, people! It was in the upper 50's Fahrenheit (that's winter weather for us) and I was energized. I went to a local garden center to grab some top soil and a few plants - without sweating!!!! - and then planted some flowers and swept most of the porch and walk . . . swept till a coughing fit stopped me. My thoughts, as I stood there coughing, even had a positive spin. The nice thing about coughing is that it makes you appreciate breathing in and out. It does, doesn't it? I took my camera to the garden center. Cool! I found a reason to be happy that the clerks have no idea you're there!!

2. I'm happy to have my kitty home! Sunshine had to go for a check-up yesterday, which meant a night at the vet's. She still has a bit of an infection, but she's really perked up in the past few days. After we pulled into the driveway, I opened her carrier. Here's my girl, just before she hopped out:

Miss Sunshine climbed into the backseat and I walked around the car to let her out, "Home, Madame." Then, she had some salad (aka weeds), zipped inside and - what else? (she is feline after all) - had a nap.

3. I'm grateful for people who do things that are so ridiculous they make me laugh. Today, while sitting in line on the school parking lot, I watched as a woman walked to her parked car, patted herself down, pulled out her keys, got in her car, cranked it up, moved the car forward six inches (I am so not kidding!), turned the car off, got out and walked away. I don't think she heard me snorting back there in line. By then, I'd run down my camera battery, so I give you:

4. "When I grow up, I want to be a beautiful butterfly."

Isn't it great to be alive?

Happy Wednesday from Bookfool

  1. I love Wahoo Wednesdays! I'm so glad that I found your blog just as you're starting them up again.

I know what you mean about the weather. It's absolutely gorgeous tonight here in New Orleans. Gotta love cool fronts!

Glad to hear that your cat is doing well! Very cute.

And what a gorgeous caterpillar. You take such great photos!

  4. Chris,

Thanks. I'm glad you found my blog, too, otherwise I'd have never seen yours. :) I wondered if you got the same cool front! Isn't it heaven? And, thanks from kitty. She was a mess just two weeks ago. It's a relief to see her perking up. Third thanks for the compliment on the photos. Isn't that a pretty caterpillar?

    Booklogged,

    You betcha! :)

    Lisa,

Thanks. Feel free to use the idea. It's amazingly uplifting!

  5. Glad Sunshine is getting better! And cooler weather is always reason to celebrate. Although here is was so strange yesterday, it actually snowed for a few minutes mixed in with the rain! Weird sudden cold snap. It's back to 'normal' today.
And since I couldn't see where to comment on the previous post- wow! you've already finished your 12 TBR Challenge books!!! Congrats!

  7. Nat,

Thanks for calling my attention to yet another problem with the post options. I guess I'll have to start routinely checking that. And, thank you also, for the congrats on the TBR challenge. It will take a while to make a significant dent in my many stacks, but any progress is good. :)

Wow, snow? That's wild! It's currently 49 degrees, here! I'm going to enjoy it while I can!!!

    Tristi,

I'm glad you found my wahoos helpful. :) A little positive infusion is always good, isn't it?

  9. Maggie,

  10. I'm always happy for cool fronts. I hate (HATE!!) warm weather. Last week, we had temps in the 80's (which made me frown), but a cold front blew in and now it is in the low 30's. I love it.

  11. LOL I love that lady. People can be so silly sometimes. Glad Sunshine is doing better. :)

Great picture of the catapillar. That is so cool!

It is cold and windy here. Oh, well. I am used to it just wish it would either be warm or cold not go between the two. lol

  12. Your Wahoo enthusiasm is contagious! Thanks for all the smiles. I love the blue caterpillar. And, yay to Sunshine. Welcome back home again, kitty. As far as your cold front, you can have it! I don't want it! We're at 29 right now with snow in the forecast. SNOW?! No thank you. I've put all my scarves and mittens away. I want to stay in shortsleeves and putter in my yard -- not scoop snow!

Today's such a beautiful day - cool and clear.

BTW - check my blog - you've been tagged.

  14. Kookie,

We were in the 80's and muggy, two days ago and, yeah, I hate hot weather. Today, it's in the 60's. I'm enjoying the cold while it lasts; hope you do, also. Hot weather saps my energy; I'm a cool-weather gal, like you!!!

    Krista,

It was weird watching that lady, but I appreciated the laugh. You just never know what people are going to do! Sunshine says, "Thanks," and I say thank you for the compliment on the caterpillar pic. I don't mind fluctuating temps, but I'd rather it stayed cool!!!

    Les,

Thanks, glad you enjoyed my wahoos and Sunshine says, "Purrrr." I'd happily trade weather with you, although I'm really enjoying our current temps and all the gorgeous flowers. April is a very, very colorful month in MS!!

    Lynne,

    It's great, isn't it?

Okay, I'm on my way over!

  15. So what, exactly, is a 'wahoo Wednesday'?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  16. CJ,

Wahoo Wednesday is a flimsy excuse to seek joy in my surroundings.

And, if you want to get technical . . . when I was new to blogging, last year, I didn't want to do what everyone else was doing - Booking through Thursday and Wordless Wednesday and such, so I just came up with my own designations (not necessarily the same every week, although Wahoo Wednesdays became a regular feature because I liked the upper). Bookfool has a tendency to flee the "in thing" as if it wields powerful, drooling jaws.

  17. I'm here visiting from a link at Lynne's blog... she nominated you for a Thinking Blog award :) I tried to comment on the post above this (Day Tripping, since I live near Jackson, not sure it's the same one!). If you like Firefly, then definitely check out the movie Serenity. Same characters, just a big screen movie after the short-lived show ended.

    Have a blessed Easter weekend!

  18. Stacy,

Thanks for visiting. I don't know why my posts keep showing up "No comment allowed", darn it. I thought I double-checked, last night. Thanks for drawing my attention to the missing link.

I'm in Vicksburg, so I meant the Jackson in Mississippi. I see you're in the "Deep South", so I'm guessing it's the same Jackson. Am I right?

We were wondering about Serenity; I jogged over to Amazon to see how much the series costs to own and saw Serenity listed below. It wasn't till later that the kiddo mentioned the ship's name is Serenity. He's requested that I locate a copy. :)

Hope you have a lovely Easter weekend!

    Purrrrrfect!

  20. Cipriano,

LOL! Thanks. I was just telling Miss Sunshine how beautiful she is, a minute ago, and that she needs to eat to keep svelte. She grinned at me and rumbled. :)
