are required. I need the calm. I hope you'll bring patience. Here's Fiona in her favorite spot in the new house:
She's as calm and happy as I'd like to be, but we are truly scrambling to get our junk out of the old house. We had so much stuff. It's insane. And, our "renter" (from whom we have yet to get a signature on a contract) has already moved furniture into our den and changed his address. We have to be out by Sunday. That's assuming he signs something, otherwise I'm confiscating husband's key and refusing to let anyone in. Wish me luck. This is so weird.
Point being, I am running back and forth between houses and don't have time to write reviews or even twaddle, at the moment. I'll have two days off the moving for Tropical Storm Isaac (probably) but I can't say whether or not I'll have power. These storms do tend to knock out the power. So, I'll be back soon and when I do, there should be a mild avalanche of posts. At the very least, I should be totally done moving by Monday.
Your patience is appreciated! Happy reading!
See--Fiona loves the color of your new comforter!
ReplyDeleteShe has excellent taste, of course! ;)
DeleteWe have plenty of patience...just worry about keeping yourself and family calm. (And getting that lease signed.)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa. Oops, I just remembered I need to read the contract and print it out. Thanks for the reminder . . . and the patience, too!
DeleteI love the color of the bedspread in this pic!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm kind of crazy about it, myself. :)
DeleteI hope everything goes well! by the way, I love the color of that spread!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather! I love it, too. I actually was looking for a comforter for Kiddo to take to school and saw a bunch of bright bedspreads in a window. Fortunately, I did eventually locate a comforter for Kiddo, as well. Not in that store, though. LOL
DeleteUgh. Moving is such a huge undertaking. I don't envy you. Take your time, get done what you need to get done. We can wait. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, of course you can relate, Wendy! It's a job and a half, isn't it? I'm really quite sick of moving but we were in that house so long . . . I had no idea we had so many possessions. We have to hurriedly move everything to the new house, but I'm already weeding as I unpack -- and we're still not finished emptying the house!! Two more days. They're moving in earlier than I realized. Eeks!
DeleteHang in there Nancy! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris! I'm hanging. Took a day off to get hurricaned. Back to work, tomorrow! Hope you survived that nasty Isaac!!! I discovered something nice about our new house during the storm. It's so well-insulated that we can only hear the wind and rain when it gets up to about 40 mph. Whoa! That was unexpected! I kept having to look outside to see if it was still storming. Wild.
DeleteGood luck with everything. Love the pic as usual. She looks so tired. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny! Yes, I suppose poor Fi was worn out from exploring. LOL She's really loving the new house. I had no idea the cats would enjoy the new house as much as we do!
DeleteWishing you energy and strength! Stay safe and dry. My son in Biloxi is under possible evac with the Air Force. Hang tight!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gaye! Was your son evacuated? I hope so! The storm surge pics were really something. We have a lot of yardwork to do, cleaning up limbs at the old house, but here . . . not bad. I like having shorter trees. :)
DeleteI hope everything goes well for you and you come through the hurricane ok. Good luck with the move. I'm with the cat, I love the bedspread cover too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! It was not so bad, really, although that could be because I was locked away in a house that appears to be practically sound-proof. Wednesday night did get a little noisy, in spite of that.
DeleteEveryone seems to love that bedspread! I'm kind of nuts about it, myself. I love bold colors. Hopefully, Kiddo won't be offended by it (since that's his room when he's not at school). If he is, though, I'll just drag out something old and subdued when he's home. ;)
I so hope you fared well with Isaac!!! And I hope everything goes well with the final moving stuff as well! You're far gutsier than I--not sure I could handle the potential stress of having a renter. Good luck with it all!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe did fine, Debi, thanks! Only lost power for about 7 hours at the new house and we do have some clean-up to do at both (limbs, leaves, twigs) but only one really major limb, so that's good. I'm not thrilled about the renter, but he's a fellow husband works with and I don't think he'll stick around for too long. Everyone's encouraging him to move on (his divorce was just finalized). I just hope we can get everything out of the house in time! Thanks for the luck!!!
