This is going to be a very text-light Wahoo! Wednesday because I made the mistake of standing in the shade to snap some photos and I can barely type for scratching the mosquito bites. My boy, above, has got a girlfriend! Wahoo for my favorite lizard! He finally attracted a nice, cute little female; I spotted her on his post for the first time, last evening. Way to go! Notice how happy he is? Here are a few bird photos taken this week. A bluejay:

I swear you have the coolest birds over there! We do have tons of blue jays over here. There are about 15 of them in this tree next door. The neighbor lady feeds them every afternoon and they know it, so they hang around. I've seen a few birds with a red breast too and I don't know what they are, but they're really pretty. I'm going to have to get me a little bird book! Love the smiling lizard :) We have lizards galore over here too! You'd think it's a haven for them...well I guess it is because I love the little guys. Many Wahoos right back atcha!

ReplyDeleteWe do have quite a menagerie, around here! Those Carolina wrens are really funny. We had a couple nesting in the greenery near our fence, last year. This year, we've got more in that area and a nest in the garage, so we have at least four of them flitting around and the garage couple are always loudly protecting their nest. They're so cute!
You do need a bird book. It's fun to identify birds; I wish I'd discovered that joy sooner.
I guess those little lizards are just everywhere in the South. Yeah, I protect mine a bit. If I see any of the neighborhood cats stalking them (or the wrens -- including my own cat), I'll chase them off.

ReplyDeleteI love squirrel chase. There are several that play on the empty, heavily-treed lot next door. Can't get enough of those fuzzy little buggers.

I'm with you; I just can't get enough of those funny little guys. Squirrel chase is a hoot. And, I love watching the way they twitch when they stand still. And, how they relax by flopping all over a limb, but they still have their eyes out for any action. Squirrels are fun. :)
