Fiona Friday returns - I am here for a head rub. Go ahead, rub my head while I check the outdoor happenings.
This is my way of starting out slowly. I had no idea how completely exhausted I'd be when I finished moving house. And there is still, of course, a massive amount of unpacking and organizing to be done. So . . . we begin with Fiona Friday. Hopefully I'll feel like writing a review or two or three, very soon.

ReplyDeleteThey certainly are! And, we have lots of natural light in the new house, which is terrific for photography. Hopefully, I'll get some reviews done in the next few days, though. Huz is jetting off to London without me, so I anticipate getting bored enough to crave writing. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to what you think of The Lost Button. Personally, I liked the beginning more than the ending, which is opposite of you, but I think that's because I became a little lost myself. In the story, I mean. Perhaps I was rushing through with the start of school? All I know is that I haven't been such a great reader lately.
If you do find time for The Thorn Birds that would be so great. Although I must admit, this time around it's a little weird that the priest practically fell in love with Meggie when she was a child. How did I not notice that so clearly before? All the same, it is still wonderful.
Yes, it's a big job but I do like the change of environment. We were so unhappy in that house. The new space fits our needs much better. It's bright, cheery and colorful. And, it has a small yard!!! Tired of fighting poison ivy!!
DeleteThat's interesting that you liked the beginning better. It almost has the feel of two completely different novels, doesn't it? Maybe the first part is just more up your alley, although I would not be surprised if school interfered with your enjoyment as you reached the end.
Funny the things we notice upon rereading. :) I really doubt I'll find The Thorn Birds in time, but you never know. I think we just have one more cabinet to move in place and then I can begin unloading books.
Whew! Take your time and get settled. We're still unpacking things from our move three years ago. Really wish that I'd taken the time to just get it all done then--even if it was exhausting.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't tell me that, Trish!!!! LOL I'm entirely useless, today. I still keep getting attacks of joint pain. Sometimes they're just a nuisance but sometimes they send me to bed and this was one of those days. I'm hoping to wake up feeling like Superwoman, tomorrow. There is so much to do!
