Fiona Friday - Decisions, decisions

I was in one room and Isabel was in another when she let out a howl. I went to ask her what was up and she gave me her, "I don't know what to do with myself" look. So, I peeked under the curio cabinet to see if she was upset because she'd lost a toy. It's one of those tricky places that eat toys -- the little furry arms aren't long enough to reach them. I could see there were quite a few toys near the back of the cabinet so I fetched a ruler and knocked out everything you see.

Then, of course, she gave me that perplexed look because there were way too many toys and how's a cat supposed to know which one to start batting around? Decisions, decisions.

    1. Isn't it funny how paralyzed they are by too many options?

  3. My O&E have been absolute pests today. "Walk me." "that walk wasn't long enough." "MOoooOOOOOOm, it's NICE outside. Get OFF the computer." Ugh, enough to drive you crazy and want real children.

    1. Trust me, real children are a lot harder to deal with than pets. They say the actual words rather than just giving you the sad eyes.

  4. I'm quite certain that half the fun of playing with toys for cats, is knocking them under something and losing them. My cat was playing with her mouse by the oven and she always loses toys under there so I told her that I would NOT be getting her mouse out if she lost it. She promptly picked it up in her mouth and carried it away from the stove. I knew she understood English!

    1. Haha, I love it! Yeah, they understand a lot more than we give them credit for. Mine *hate it* when I tell them I'm "going bye-bye for a while". They know exactly what it means. I can walk out the door, lock it, remember I forgot something, unlock the door and walk right back in and they'll already be curled up sulking by the time I'm back inside. Cats are smart.

  5. I find the cats can be like that when there are many options, but Mackie's toys are always in a pile and he delights in playing with one for a bit before moving on to another one.

    1. It's mostly the jingle balls and milk carton tabs that end up under furniture. Believe it or not, my cats have several toy boxes and they know where to go get toys if I do my job and put them back in the boxes regularly.
