Hugh Laurie! Oopsie!

"Bertie, it is young men like you who make a person with the future of the race at heart despair." - Aunt Agatha

I can't believe I did that!!! In my three-book review post, I said Hugh Laurie played Jeeves in Jeeves and Wooster. Well, obviously, either my fingers were not connected to my brain or I was subconsciously seeking yet another excuse to post a photo of Hugh Laurie, who played Bertie Wooster, not Jeeves. I've corrected that post. Here's the apology photo for that mistake. How many of you are hoping I'll make a lot more errors in the future?

Just finished: Unexpected Daughter by Suzanne Cox and Hugs for Women on the Go by Stephanie Howard. Review of Suzanne's book forthcoming - the other one is just little stories of encouragement and there's little to say about it.

Now reading: Holiday Wishes by Kate Austin, Stevi Mittman and Mary Schramski (I think - I'm reading the names upside-down).

Hope for the day: I'm just hoping all my meals will settle in and digest. Yesterday was not a good day.

Today in History: Oh, yes, of course we know about Pearl Harbor. But, even more important, my youngest child was born 15 years ago, on December 7, 1991. I didn't even get to wish him a Happy Birthday before dropping him off at school, however, because we overslept. That's two Oopsies in one day, so far. Anyone for three?

I think I'll climb under the covers and read, now.

    Hope your day improves.

  2. Am I the only female who isn't attracted to Hugh Laurie?

  3. Nat,

I'm fine, today. Yesterday, I think I just had a really, really bad migraine. I couldn't keep anything down until I got enough anti-nausea medicine in me to keep the painkillers down. Blecch.

    Angela,

No, you're not the only one. My son's girlfriend thinks he's creepy and I've heard other women say, "Nyeh, not my cup of tea." There are just a lot of us who think Hugh is the bees knees.

  4. Dear Bookfool, my only son (Daniel Joseph!) was born on December 7 as well. Happy Birthday to both of our 'babies!' I'm sure you at least made him a cake. I sent mine off with a Limited Edition of Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark in lieu of a cake.

  5. Hi! You are too funny. So what's up with your book?

Angela ~ I like Hugh's character on House more than his looks, but I have to admit that he's not too bad. :)

  6. Happy Birthday, Youngest!

Aww, any day there's a pic of Hugh Laurie, it can't be all bad. But going back to bed & reading under the covers will cure anything.

  7. Bellezza,

My eldest is a Daniel Joseph! Happy birthday to your Daniel! I almost bought William (the birthday boy) a cheesecake because there aren't enough of us to justify a big cake. Then, someone came along and blocked my reach to the cheesecakes and she would not budge, so I bought a little mini cake. Will said, "No, thanks," and asked me to take him to Wendy's. LOL

    Joy,

I'm decompressing and working on house and Christmas shopping, so the book is on hold. I'll get back to it, probably in January.

I think I'm more attracted to Hugh Laurie's brains and his lanky frame than his looks, although he has great eyes. They looked goggly when he was younger, but he's sort of grown into them, IMHO.

    Carrie,

Reading under the covers is always good. LOL I'll pass on your birthday wishes. I can't believe my baby is 15!!!

    Wow!
Must stop now and wipe the droplets of drool from the keyboard.
    Thanks, bookfool!

Who is this guy? first time I see him...

The consequence of always having your nose in a book.

  11. Nessie,

Hugh Laurie is the star of House, M.D. and he played Bertie Wooster in Jeeves and Wooster (a production of the BBC, I think). The Jeeves and Wooster series was based on books by P.G. Wodehouse. I've been a P.G. Wodehouse fan and a Hugh Laurie admirer since discovering J & W; Laurie's a very talented man. House is the only TV show I currently watch. I usually have my nose in a book, too. :)

  13. Wow, you and Bellezza both have sons born on December 7th?! My daughter was born on December 10th (11 days late!). Why does this not surprise me that we all have December babies? Speaking of December BDays, mine's coming up on the 13th.

  14. Bookgirl,

Thanks. :) I need a week off to sleep (that's wishful thinking!!) but I think that migraine's gone - hard to tell for sure because my focus is whacked up.

    Les,

Happy early birthday to you! All those December babies probably have something to do with March being a cold month. ;)

Bookfool, I'm glad you made a mistake for two reasons. It's nice to know I'm not alone and now I know who Hugh Laurie is or, at least, what he looks like. I must be living in a hole.

Am I understanding this - Bookfool and Bellezza both have a son born on Dec 7and both sons are named Daniel Joseph?! What a coincidence!

  17. Booklogged,

It's okay to not know all the famous faces. To be honest, I'm probably living in the hole next door. We actually shared a table with Matt Dillon (at a Benihana's) on our honeymoon but had no idea who he was till the next month, when I saw his face in a magazine. I figured he was a model with those cheekbones. You can imagine how funny it was to find out he was a Famous Guy. LOL

Close on the birthdays; my Daniel Joseph has a September birthday. The youngster, William, is the December birthday boy. And, December 7 also happens to be the birthday of my childhood sweetheart, whom I haven't seen in over 20 years. David and I pretty much decided Will had to arrive on Dec. 7. My reason: I knew I'd be able to remember the date (like you could actually forget the day of your child's birth, but I do have trouble remembering my mother's) and hubby because the 7th was a Saturday and he didn't want to have to take off work.

  21. Booklogged,

Thanks, sweetie. I live to make you smile. BTW, your post came through twice - similar, but not the same exact wording, so I assumed the comment demons attacked you and I removed the second one. :) Those little imps.

    Andi,

I'll try to make a fool of myself, just so I can post more Hugh pics. I can joyfully report that there are plenty to choose from!!!
