Just a note to let everyone know our Sunshine is back in the house and on antibiotics. She has a very treatable infection; she's actually even a little perkier, already. Wahoo! While it's possible she also has some early signs of diabetes, she'll only need to be monitored, occasionally, to see what's up with her blood sugar (at least for the time being). Sunshine is home!!
Just a note to let everyone know our Sunshine is back in the house and on antibiotics. She has a very treatable infection; she's actually even a little perkier, already. Wahoo! Oh, I'm happy Sunshine is home and getting well! My kittycat Sheba developed diabetes as a 16 year old (well, possibly she had it long before and I just thought she was getting old, bad me) but even with insulin shots, she lived to be almost 20. So there can be lots of years ahead of you and Sunshine, and early dectection is the best thing possible.

I was stunned at how nicely Sunshine took her first pill. I actually looked up how to pill a cat online, just to be sure I remembered right and did exactly what they said. No problem! It may even have been easier than giving a kid medicine! LOL

Yep, we had a sickie. It's a relief to see her perking up. :)
Hubby and I were talking about how books and cats go together, just this morning. Funny! Maybe it's a personality thing. I like cats because they're so relaxed, myself, and it's hard to imagine not having at least one nearby while reading. :)

Thanks so much for mentioning your kitty; that certainly makes me feel better about the possible diabetes. Wow, 20 years is a long life! I had a kitty named Sheba, as a young child! Unfortunately, she got out when my father was spraying bug poison around the house and back then it was stout stuff, so we lost her quite young. She was my one and only Siamese, so pretty.

Oh, what a cutie! She looks a bit like my cat, Mina, who has been diabetic for a couple years now. The worst part for me was getting used to giving her insulin shots twice a day!

ReplyDeleteHugs and neck-rubs to your Mina. I hope Sunshine doesn't need insulin shots! I'm really worried, though, because Sunshine is still not interested in getting up to eat or drink. I've been carrying a bowl of water to her, several times a day, and she happily drinks but she's losing weight.
