Just a note to let everyone know our Sunshine is back in the house and on antibiotics. She has a very treatable infection; she's actually even a little perkier, already. Wahoo! While it's possible she also has some early signs of diabetes, she'll only need to be monitored, occasionally, to see what's up with her blood sugar (at least for the time being). Squillions of thanks and hugs to all who sent prayers and wishes for Sunshine!!!
Yay !! I'm glad it's something treatable!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Sunshine is improving!
ReplyDeleteYay for Sunshine! What a trooper.
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic news! I'm so glad she's back and feeling better! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Sunshine is doing OK. Do you have to give her pills? Not a fun thing to do!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear she is back home!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzi, Jenclair, Nik, Nat, Lynne and Kailana! I told Sunshine you're all glad she's filling better. She twitched her ears, but otherwise didn't move. I'm sure that means she appreciates the well wishes.
ReplyDeleteLynne, yes, she's on pills. I'm about to pill the cat. Ugh. Not fun is right, but it's gotta be done. :)
Oh how wonderful!! I'm so glad your Sunshine is home.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Sunshine!!! Great news :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your little Sunshine is home!!
ReplyDeleteGlad Sunshine is better. I've just found your blog and am really enjoying it. I am crazy about books, too, and am also a Mississippi author.
ReplyDeleteI hate giving my son Tylenol Cold and Cough cause he fights me so much. I can't imagine how horrible it is to give a pet a pill. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know you had a sick kitty! Glad to hear Sunshine is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about cats and books? They just go together...don't they?
Oh, I'm happy Sunshine is home and getting well! My kittycat Sheba developed diabetes as a 16 year old (well, possibly she had it long before and I just thought she was getting old, bad me) but even with insulin shots, she lived to be almost 20. So there can be lots of years ahead of you and Sunshine, and early dectection is the best thing possible.
ReplyDeleteGlad Sunshine is on the mend, sorry to hear about her diabetes. The perils of growing older, eh? Scratch her head for me.
ReplyDeleteHeather, Wendy and Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Sunshine is happy and purring noisily. She says thank you. :)
Keetha,
Thanks! Oh, boy, another Mississippian! I'll check out your blog in a minute. Hubby's been hogging the computer. :)
Krista,
I was stunned at how nicely Sunshine took her first pill. I actually looked up how to pill a cat online, just to be sure I remembered right and did exactly what they said. No problem! It may even have been easier than giving a kid medicine! LOL
Malady,
Yep, we had a sickie. It's a relief to see her perking up. :)
Hubby and I were talking about how books and cats go together, just this morning. Funny! Maybe it's a personality thing. I like cats because they're so relaxed, myself, and it's hard to imagine not having at least one nearby while reading. :)
Carrie,
Thanks so much for mentioning your kitty; that certainly makes me feel better about the possible diabetes. Wow, 20 years is a long life! I had a kitty named Sheba, as a young child! Unfortunately, she got out when my father was spraying bug poison around the house and back then it was stout stuff, so we lost her quite young. She was my one and only Siamese, so pretty.
Kookiejar,
Thanks, I'll give Sunshine an ear rub from you. I can already tell you she'll appreciate it. :)
Hey bookfool...if you get a chance, will you email me? Pretty please?
ReplyDelete(Just comment on my blog and I'll have your email addy.)
Thanks a mill!
Hey Colleen,
ReplyDeleteDone! Just jogged over to your blog. :)
I'm so happy Sunshine is doing better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sassymonkey! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Sunshine,
ReplyDeleteMeow, meow, meow, purrrrrr.

ReplyDeleteDear Frankie,
ReplyDeletePurrrrrr, meow meow!!
Love, Sunshine
Oh, what a cutie! She looks a bit like my cat, Mina, who has been diabetic for a couple years now. The worst part for me was getting used to giving her insulin shots twice a day!
ReplyDeleteLesley,
ReplyDeleteHugs and neck-rubs to your Mina. I hope Sunshine doesn't need insulin shots! I'm really worried, though, because Sunshine is still not interested in getting up to eat or drink. I've been carrying a bowl of water to her, several times a day, and she happily drinks but she's losing weight.
