The whole family has been kind of moaning, this week, so please pardon my absence. We're all sidelined with completely different maladies. Also, we had to go buy a car. Darn . . . debt. Not my favorite. But, I do like the new vehicle.
For your entertainment and edification, a few photos:

Have finished two books due to being unable to move anything but eyeballs--reviews forthcoming, eventually. I'm working on another post, but am giving up for the day. Coming up: babble. Lots of babble. And, maybe a few pictures and a couple of cool links.
Currently reading: The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens, Who Creamed Peaches, Anyway? by Stevi Mittman, A Hawaiian Reader, Vol. 1, and Neuromancer by William Gibson.
Bookfool, in search of fluffy pillows
So sorry to hear y'all are all sick! Blech! Get better soon! A new car, eh? You should've included that in your pictures :) That's always exciting, though the debt is indeed a horrible thing. I can't wait to have mine paid off...just 2 more years! A little less now actually! I love the pics that you did post. Especially the chickens. What a great pic! The park that I've been walking at has tons of chickens and roosters walking around and I've been wanting to take my camera. I saw a woman the other day taking pictures of a hen with her little baby chicks and go figure..I thought of you seeing her taking pictures ;) And I love that evil eye! I used to have a thing for eyeballs...don't ask, I was a weird kid...
ReplyDeletedue to being unable to move anything but eyeballs
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Hope you're up and around again soon. Lovely photos, as always.
Get well soon Bookfool house! I'll keep y'all in my prayers. Maybe a little sick time can lead to some reading time?
ReplyDeleteWhat kinda car did you get?
Oh no!! Nothing worse than the whole family down with some bug or other. Hope all are on their feet (yours included!) soon.
ReplyDeleteFluffy pillows? As in down or feather-filled ones? Or soft fluffy outer case?? Good luck though.
Thanks for popping by... :-))
Feel better soon. As always- gorgeous pix!
ReplyDeleteHope you are all on the mend!
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteHopefully, we'll all be on the mend, soon. I have some antibiotics I need to pick up, but I got up briefly and then went back to bed. Lazy.
I couldn't take photos of the new vehicle, last night -- we had to fetch it in Jackson and it was foggy and dark. But, I just went out and took a couple. It's in a bad spot - right by the trashcans and the ugly old Nissan (which I call our "planter" -- it's covered with mold and has flat tires, vines are growing over the wheels . . . it's totally dead and we don't know how to get rid of it). I'll try to pose the new car better, later on.
The friend that send those evil eyes had a mask collection. So, eyeballs . . . okay, yeah, that was weird. LOL
Definitely photograph the chickens!!!!
Nat,
ReplyDeleteWe have antibiotics to pick up, so if I can just get my fat booty out the door I'm sure we'll improve, soon. I'm so useless when I don't feel great.
Thank you on the photos. And, a belated thanks and apology for the Christmas card! Loved it and I didn't get out but a handful of cards, this year, so I apologize for not reciprocating.
Nikki,
Thank you. Yes, actually, I've finished two books and I'm reading 4 others, so being laid up has been terrific for reading.
We got a Honda CR-V. I'm going to have to find a place to pose it. Hubby put it in a bad spot - right by the trash cans and the dead Nissan.
Indigo,
Thanks. The guys are still functioning, although they both feel kind of miserable. I'm the bum. Actually, even the cat is sneezing, today!!! Good grief!
Fluffy pillows as in foam. I love my foam pillows. But, be forewarned . . . they freeze and crack if you leave them in a cold car. I was allergic to down, as a child -- don't know if I still am, but I avoid feather pillows. :)
Chris,
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! :)
Jenclair,
Soon, I hope. I'm about to head out to pick up the antibiotics. Thanks. :)
Cute pix of the chix!
ReplyDeleteNo car photos. Sob. Get well soon!
Neuromancer. Darn it, I've got that on my TBR shelves - in hardback.
How're you liking The Pickwick Papers? I remember being unimpressed at the time, after Tale of Two Cities but it was awhile ago.
Carrie,
ReplyDeleteWonder if I'd get more hits if I put "Photos of cute chicks!!!" on my blog, somewhere.
Will post a photo of the car. Not to worry. She's been posed and everything.
Neuromancer is a wild ride. I'm balancing so many books that I haven't gotten far, but it's fascinating. I liked his description of a sky the color of a television station that's off-air. Our sky looked like that, last night, but for different reasons (fog rather than pollution).
The Pickwick Papers is plotless and so goofy that I can only stand a chapter at a time. It'll take some time to finish. It's definitely not on par with Great Expectations, but PP was his first book. And, serial form is good for this one. I could see reading that in the newspaper and thinking, "Oh, boy, I can't wait for the next edition!"
Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteThey're kinda grumpy and they moan a lot. Typical. :)
Very cool about your car! We always pay ours off early. I hate debt. I've been working on paying extra on the house, but I guess I'll have to drop that amount for a while. Or get a job. But, I'm hoping to go back to school in the fall (fingers crossed).
I'm sending lots of get well thoughts to you and the fam. *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andi. We're improving. :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem. I'm glad it got there, I was wondering if it got lost in the post. BTW, Daisy is very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteNat,
ReplyDeleteIt came after we left for Oklahoma and David has no sense of organization. I'm still finding little bits of mail that he just set down, here or there. So, I got it a bit late. No postal problem, though--just a Mr. Chaos thing!
Daisy thanks you. Or she would if she could speak. :)
