Email Goes Wacko; Bookfool Follows

Just a brief note to let any who may have emailed me at my bellsouth account know that my email has gone completely wacko. If you've written to me at that address, it may possibly have been chomped by the ether, sorry. I'll let y'all know when the situation resolves. Anyone who needs to communicate with me can send a telepathic message or ask me for my yahoo address, although I'm much better at prophetic dreams than telepathy. Also, it's raining and totally gross outside. The thunder has occasionally shut me down. The lights are flickering madly. And, my husband just left for Norway (without me, yes). This is, therefore, my current mood:

I'm going to go read. It's the only way I can hope to salvage my Friday. Wishing all a happy weekend.

Bookfool, hoping husband will honor the request to bring home a Viking (I don't ask for much)

  1. We've had some terrible storms here today as well. I hope you don't end up losing power. That would be bad.

Yeah....good luck with the whole Viking thing!!

  2. Just in case you didn't get my telepathic message, I'll go ahead and leave my comment here. :-) I hope your service provider gets the kinks worked out soon!

I hope your husband has a safe trip--and not too much fun since you are stuck at home dealing with bad weather.

  3. Stephanie,

I was just reading about the storms in the Bread Basket. I think you guys had it much worse. So far, it's just been a little noisy, wet and muggy -- at least we've missed out on the tornadic weather.

He's so not bringing me a Viking. Hubby said he might try to find me a troll, though. Just what every girl needs! :)

    Wendy,

I felt a very insignificant vibe. Telepathy is just not my strong suit, I'm afraid. I hope my provider gets things fixed, too. I've been apparently getting about half of my email. What a nuisance -- I didn't even realize there was a problem, for a while. So, who knows what I missed.

Thanks, hubby will be traveling all night by plane and then 8 hours by bus. I think, seriously, I can do without seeing a fjord if there's that much sitting involved. But, still . . . Norway. Unfair.

  4. I'm right there in that boat with ya. My other is not in Norway, but I have the same face on!

  5. Andi,

It seems to be going around a bit, this mood. Hope yours improves, soon. I'm going for a nice, long soak in some great-smelling bathwater, next. Pretty scents can't make the huz materialize, but anything helps.

    Suzi,

Awww, thanks. I needed that. :)

  6. Good grief. Norway without you and big trouble in cyber space at the same time? Sounds like hubby was getting the heck out of Dodge...

Naw, not really. I hope the email snafu is fixed soon.

    And the bird is adorable.

  7. I was going to ask if your husband would bring me a viking...but then I remembered that I kind of have one, lol. He lives in Australia right now, but we've been friends for ten years, and he's a 6'3" Norwegian. And I gotta tell you, he's a pretty awesome guy (I made friends w/ him when I was 11 and he was 13, and intermittantly throughout the years, my mom has suggested I marry him, lol...only his own engagement to an Australian stopped those hints)!

  8. I love that picture. So descriptive. I hope you're feeling better soon!

  9. CJ,

Well, the airline lost his luggage so maybe he's getting a little bit of cosmic payback for leaving. I told him they're having a great time with his pants in Zanzibar. It turns out, though, that his luggage didn't even make it out of Memphis.

I'm using webmail, for now. It seems to be working fine, but I can't say for sure. I'll check my outlook express to see whether anything comes through, later on. I hate funky email problems. I feel cut off without my email functioning, you know?

I've got to figure out whether that's an emu or an ostrich. He lives at Woolaroc in Oklahoma. I love the expression. :)

    Eva, Eva!!!

You let a Viking slip through your fingertips? Horrors. I would have said, "Umm, I've always wanted to see Australia," just to see what he had to say. :)

Yeah, that engagement would throw a kink in things.

    Nikki,

It looks just like me, this morning. My feathers are all askew.

The good news is that hubby made it safely to Oslo. Bad news is that his luggage didn't and he only has one extra shirt. Plus, he still has an 8-hour bus ride. I told him he should skip that meeting and stay home!!

  10. A great time with his pants in Zanzibar?

You do crack me up... Thanks for the laugh.

  12. CJ,

Okay, thanks! I'll jog over and have a look after I buy myself a blue tarp. Looks like we had some roof damage in last night's storm. Figures. Husband leaves; something goes wrong. LOL

  13. Well, I don't know, but it sure seems to me that a Viking is the least he can do for not taking you with him!

And by the way, I have no idea if you ever go back to check comments, so I'll just tell you here as well how much I loved hearing about your dad's collection of wooden animals. The one on the shelf in the photo is a really special one to me...it's from my best friend's dad's collection (my friend gave it to me after he died).

So glad you stumbled on my blog, because I'm just in love with yours! And your photos are gorgeous!

  14. Debi,

You'd think he could swing me just one Viking, wouldn't you? :)

I always forget to go back to check comments, although I try. I'm so glad you bopped over here to visit me. How cool that the wooden animal also holds a special place in your heart! I'm hoping that I'll happen across my dad's wooden animals. For all I know my mother might have given them away, but probably not. I think she tucked a lot of my father's stuff away in boxes because she couldn't bear to look at them, after his death.

Thank you! I love your blog, too!

  15. lol...yeah, with the benefit of hindsight, I probably would have pursued something there...even if I am a foot shorter than him! But he has lots of viking friends, so once he's back in Norway maybe I'll go visit. :D

  16. Eva,

There you go. Just take advantage of the Viking friends. Go for it!

BTW, I'm 9" shorter than my husband and my little 5-foot big sister once dated a guy who was 6'4". They were kinda cute together, actually. :)

  17. Maybe your husband will return a Viking...now wouldn't that be fun!

  18. Trish,

I don't think he's going to come back with anything but a bunch of stinky clothes, unfortunately. Hubby said he bought a coke, today, and it cost him $6. Norway is outrageously expensive. Maybe an Italian in November would do. :)
