Fiona Friday (a tad early) - Adaptation

First, a "What the heck happened to my climbing cabinet?" photo:

Both cats got this same look. They knew the cabinet was there and were totally baffled by its absence. But, they didn't think about it for long. Of course, if one nice climbing spot disappears, you have no choice but to look for alternatives.

Sometimes your sister finds the good spot, first.

    1. I wish you could have kitties, too, Chris. They're loads of fun. But, dogs are okay, too. :)

  2. Lol. I wish my cat would climb more. I think it would give her more confidence.

    1. Jenny,

I think mine are too confident for their own good, especially Izzy. She's taken a few scary tumbles.

  4. My cat also gets very confused any time we change stuff on him. I can only imagine the hilarity that would ensue if we had more than the one.

    1. There has been much hilarity. Yes, indeed!

    1. Thanks, Alyce! It's going to be a long process; they're just adapting to things being moved out of our current home. When I start sleeping in the new house (after that last room is painted), that's when we'll move the cats over. We're hoping they'll adjust to the new place a bit easier if things they're familiar with are already in place. Plus, I don't want them walking through paint. LOL

  7. Great pictures! My cat's not much of a climber, but he hates change. We got new furniture once, and it pretty much terrified him for several days until he finally (steathily) creeped past to make sure the new recliners wouldn't wouldn't do him any damage. ;)

    1. Thanks! I'm having a little trouble imagining cats that aren't into climbing -- guess mine have always been climbers, although Sunshine was a terrible jumper. She had a tendency to aim for the windowsill and slide down the wall, poor klutzy girl.

Mine seem to be handling the change very well, although Fiona is acting a little stressed. It'll be interesting to see how they handle living in a new house. That's so funny about your kitty's fear of the new furniture! Thanks for the smile!

    1. Well . . . sort of. I try to grab the camera when they're doing something especially cute. Sometimes I succeed; sometimes they're on to me before I even get to the camera. Then, I try to tell a story with the photos, if I can. They're such active kitties that there's always *something* going on!

  9. We used to have a cat that was positively acrobatic. He would climb from the top of bookshelves and fling himself downward, onto passers-by, scaring the holy bejesus out of them. Your kitties sound and look more sane.

    1. Ohmygosh, Heather, that's hilarious -- and kind of scary! LOL Yes, mine are apparently a bit more sane, although Isabel is a little too self-confident and worries me with her climbing because she's taken a few spills.
