And what was on that shelf that had her so curious? She's getting awfully big! And while I'm behind and don't want to leave 10 million comments I do have to say how much I love that picture of her paw you took several posts down.
It's not what's on the shelves - it's just that she has to explore absolutely everything. She is all over the place! The second pic is my desk, though. I think that's her way of trying to say, "Hey! Cat here! See? CAT!!! Somebody play jingle ball chase with me OR I'LL CLIMB UP RIGHT HERE AND KNOCK THINGS DOWN TILL YOU NOTICE ME." She's a handful!!
Thanks. That paw picture took some serious work! If I get close to her with the camera, she often moves away (or pulls away the paw, doggone it) but sometimes she'll bat at the camera and I got lucky. That time, she batted and then just let the paw hang. I'd been trying to get just that photo for weeks! Glad to see you're back, btw!
Krista,
Thanks. Fi's a nut and sometimes a total brat, but we're just crazy about her. :)
I'm starting to wonder if it's a tabby thing to be so painfully curious. My other kitties explored but not anywhere near Fiona level. She's now digging around in cabinets, having learned to open the cabinet doors, and I can just visualize her turning doorknobs when she gets a wee bit taller! I'll bet your guy is a challenge, too, yes?
It might be. My orange tabby explores, but not as much as the gray tabby. (Oliver is fatter too though which makes it harder.) The gray tabby is just all over the place, cabinets they can do, doors they can sometimes do - we have to keep the back door locked so they don't open it!
The fat orange tabby in my sidebar was just as you described. She was more of an explorer than our black and white, but not to the extreme of Fiona. Yikes on the back door! We may have some real fun in store for us, as if we're not getting plenty already. LOL
Hee hee. She's so cute! I laughed reading the comments- my kitty will get up on the dresser, desk, bookshelf, wherever and start knocking stuff over if she's feeling ignored. I have to say it's pretty effective!
Thank you. LOL Yeah, knocking things off various surfaces is definitely an effective attention-grabber and kitties know it! Our Spooky used to do that, too. I keep our bedroom door closed when I'm really tired, just to keep from having to worry about awakening to crash noises. Fortunately, Fiona doesn't mind. Spooky would stand outside the door, wailing and scratching, if I locked her out.
Seriously, I love your kitty. These posts of her intrepid explorations are great fun. I suspect she may be in my class next year, eh? I always get the characters who 'don't if in the box'. They're my favorite kind.
I had kind of surmised that you're not a cat person. ;) Fi is a lovely beastie . . . and a hellion, but we won't go there. There are plenty more photos where that came from, don't worry. LOL
Bellezza,
Oh, baby, you would have loved my kids if you like people who are "out of the box" (or "color outside the lines") types!
Fi is definitely that kind, too . . . she's a sharp critter -- really more puppy than kitty, at this point (very outgoing and lovable), which I happen to love. I like snobby cats, too, though. Okay, I just love cats. But, you already knew that, didn't you? :)
She is absolutely adorable. Those photos make me want to go out and get another cat (but sadly I've set a two cat limit for our house - we just don't have enough room for more).
Thanks. Same here - we've talked about getting as many as three cats but we always fall back on the size of our house. Two is about our limit. That means we still have room for one more, though! :) For now, I'm sticking to one cat. She's such a handful!!
Thank you for visiting my blog! I use comment moderation because apparently my blog is a spam magnet. Don't worry. If you're not a robot, your comment will eventually show up and I will respond, with a few exceptions. If a comment smacks of advertising, contains a dubious link or is offensive, it will be deleted. I love to hear from real people! I'm a really chatty gal and I love your comments!
I just want to let you know I love Fiona Fridays.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't put the good books up so high, she wouldn't have to climb up to get to them!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute. Getting big but still a kitten-kitty!
Nikki,
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, dear. :)
Carrie,
Yes, but the books on the lower shelves are in danger of receiving teeth marks. Fiona does like to chew.
She's a total cutie - as you say, still kittenish but growing like a weed. I think 6 months was a nice age for adoption.
She looks like she's looking for a good book to curl up with. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Les,
ReplyDeleteLOL Of course! She's a bookfool's kitty, after all. :)
Happy weekend to you! I'm glad you're feeling better!!
She was just looking for something good to read. Or maybe chew.
ReplyDeleteI think she's looking for a good book to read.
ReplyDeleteSoftdrink,
ReplyDeleteShe's a chewer, all right. I need to train her to pose with books. So far, she'd rather sniff and eat them.
Kathy,
Of course. She must love books if she's mine, right?

ReplyDeleteso cute!! :)

I can't believe how much Fiona looks like one of my babies. He is an explorer like that as well :)

I just love how she looks like she's looking for a particular book! She's adorable :)
ReplyDeleteGentle Reader,
ReplyDeleteThank you! She's quite a little hellion, our Fi, but we're crazy about her. :)
I just showed this post to The Hubster. My comment was "Look familiar?"
ReplyDeleteHis response: "Except for the eye color . . . send my condolences to your friend"
SuziQ,
ReplyDeleteHaha! And she's only 9 months old! Just think of all the years of fun that may be in store for us. :)
Those made me laugh. I see my cat in that position all the time!
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great the way they explore? She can be a nuisance at times, but I just adore kitty curiosity. :)

OK, I admit it, I am SO not a cat person, but that is a beautiful kitty. More pics!
