Christmas is over? Darn. I was having such fun.

  1. My mother, my siblings and their children (at least those in Utah) gather many times during the holidays for food, laughter and games. I'm usually tired when Jan 2 rolls around, but a bit invigorated, too. It's good to get back to the daily routines and to regular sleeping schedules.

But, the holidays are sooooo fun.

  2. Booklogged,

You're so lucky! It's just the 4 of us gathering, here. We had a great time and I still managed to get worn out, but it's a good kind of fatigue, isn't it? :)

I finally got back to reading! I read 2 and finished 1 in the last 2 days! YIPPEE!

  4. Excellent poll! As it turned out I came down with a wicked cold/flu thing on Christmas night. Still hacking, but I think I'm on the mend. Booo Christmas illnesses!

  5. We consider Christmastime as lasting through January 6, so we're still in the thick of it!

I'm glad yours was a good one ... and yes, no matter how tiring, as you say, it's a good fatigue.

  6. Care,

Wowee, you're having too much fun!! May I join you? My husband thinks I should do tons of housework while he's around!! Wrong!! :)

    Andi,

Thank you! I've seen your twitters about the cold. Poor chickie!! I feel for you, getting sick around the holidays. There seem to be a lot of nasty flu and viruses going around, but you weren't supposed to get one of them! :)

    Bridget,

We don't have set dates, but I can't bear to take the tree down until at least the first week of January (which is, I guess, this week), so we still have a bit of a pseudo-holiday thing going, here.

Thanks! Sounds like you're having a good time, too. Wahoo for holidays! :)

  7. Hope you had a great Christmas. Ours was wonderful. This is the first time back on the computer in several days and I feel overwhelmed. It was a great vacation though, and my family argued over whose turn it was on the Wii Fit. LOL

  8. Hi Anna!

We had a great Christmas, too, thanks! I've been twittering, but my Google Reader is ridiculous. I might have to clean it out and start out fresh. I know what you mean about finding it overwhelming.

We have a Wii Fit. It's fun, but I hate when it creates your character. Mine is round as a beach ball. LOL

  9. I hear you! I'd created a Mii awhile ago, and of course, I made her thin because I could. The minute I did the initial body test on the Wii Fit, she ballooned. It was rather depressing.

  10. Anna,

I hate that body test!! And, if you stop exercising for a while, it sort of chews you out. Maybe I need that, though. :)

  11. Looks like I have something to look forward to LOL! As if I don't have enough to deal with when I come home from work, now my video games are going to give me an attitude.

  12. Anna,

And, if your balance is wacky, it'll tell you you're the equivalent of a 65-year-old in health. You have to take that Wii with a grain of salt!

  13. I just saw the little widget for Dewey on your sidebar. How very cool. I had taken notes from a few of her 'Sunday Book Covetings' and am including them in my TBR challenge this year. I'm going to miss her blog a lot.

  14. Love your poll but I really needed to combine some options. I've spent a good deal of time doing nothing, but I am anally organized. I just started putting away the Christmas stuff today and of course everything's back in its container, placed to maximize space....I know, it's a sickness.

  15. All signs of Christmas must be put away before the first of the year.

    LOL @ your poll!

  17. Hey Jules!

I haven't seen you around in a while and was actually thinking about you, the other day. Apparently, you're not in my Google Reader; I'll have to remedy that.

A couple of different bloggers came up with commemorative buttons for Dewey and I'm just one of those who snatched one. I know there are many, many bibliophiles who miss Dewey. She was an awesome, wondrous, cheerful presence. Good to see you!

    Tammy,

I'm kind of a combination of several of those, too. It's just an excuse to put off posting until the guys get out of my way for a few hours. They are really, really time-consuming. David actually stripped our tree to keep busy while talking on the phone, today, so I guess that means I need to put everything away, tomorrow! :)

    Kathy,

In that case, I'd better get cracking.

  18. Hubby and I spend two weeks with our family and when we finally get home we're exhausted!

  19. J. Kaye,

    Thanks!!

    Tink,

I miss those days. It's a good kind of exhaustion, isn't it?

  20. I am still doing nothing, nothing, nothing

  21. Jessica,

Shhh! Me, too. I don't think we can go much longer before we all run out of clean underwear.

  22. Hello bookfool - I hope you guys have been enjoying the holidays and I totally understand being overwhelmed by google reader (in my case bloglines!). Ah well, at least I'll have lots of good reading ahead :)

    Have a wonderful New Year!

  23. Iliana,

Hi! I'm glad to see you're back! It's mostly a lack of time, here. My guys are really time-consuming! They just don't want me to play. Today, I haven't even looked at google reader or gmail, but I hope I'll get a little reading done, tomorrow, and maybe a blog post soon!! :)

    Happy New Year!!

I always get really into Christmas somewhere between the 23rd and the 26th. Of December, of course.

    Happy New Year!

  25. Carrie,

Of course. It takes time to shove the Scrooge thing out of the way and work up some excitement. Been there.

    Happy New Year!!!!

  26. As I just commented elsehwere, Christmas isn't over until the kids go back to school, so we still have the weekend! Party on.

  27. Suey,

We still have another week with the kiddo at home because of the freaky new transition-to-year-round schedule (which I hate with a purple passion, although I love having him around) but he's got to get all 4 wisdom teeth out on Tuesday. So much for partying at our house. LOL Have fun!
