Going blog silent

Happy Thanksgiving (a wee bit early) to the Americans!  We'll be busy with family, this week, and I've been having a bit of post-NaNoWriMo exhaustion reading block so there's not much malarkey to share, this week.  I may take a couple weeks off blogging while I recover.

This is German food from Alabama, by the way.  Couldn't find a decent turkey photo but I figured since this shot pretty much made me drool on the keyboard it would be a good one for illustration.

It makes me want to hop a plane to Germany or at least take a road trip to Alabama.  Hope all of you have a fabulous week or two.  Happy Reading to all!

  1. Did you finish your Nano book then? Way to go! I hope to read it someday! :) I'm still working on the last couple thousand of mine right now. Here's hoping I make it before Thanksgiving, because I don't think it will happen afterward. Anyway, have a wonderful break!

    1. I finished my 50,000 words but haven't made it to the resolution so I'll still be working on the story for a while. Wasn't NaNo fun? Hard work, though, for sure.

We had a fabulous holiday, thanks! So nice to finally go home-home. We had not been back to Oklahoma in at least a couple years. I didn't even realize how long it had been! Hope your Thanksgiving was as wonderful as ours, Suey!!!

  2. Yum! Best German food I had was in Fredericksburg, Texas. The schnitzel was so good, we went back to the same restaurant the following night. ;)

Have a good holiday and we'll see you when you return. I've been quiet for almost 3 weeks now. Hoping to get back to blogging in the coming weeks. Maybe.

    Love ya!

    1. I would have definitely gone back for more of that fantastic German food, had we stayed more than a single night but it was just a brief stop-over when we took Will to Space Camp, a few years back.

We're back from our trip but I'm not getting back on the blog to post till we've at least gotten a decent start on the holiday decorating. There is much to do. I figured you were probably a bit too overwhelmed to post, with all that's been going on in your life.

Thanks! I hope you had a terrific holiday, Les! Love ya right back!

  4. I checked out Dr. Who and Jeeves and Wooster from the library. They are def. interesting. Hugh Laurie does a good job. I have only watched one episode of Dr. Who. He meets the girl Rose in it. The website does not mention her so who knows what I checked out. lol

    1. Brittanie,

The entire Jeeves & Wooster series is fabulous. The only thing I disliked about it was the fact that some of the lesser actors occasionally changed. Since Fry & Laurie were always consistent, though, we adapted. I think we have the entire set on DVD (Lord knows - I can't find anything since we moved).

You watched the beginning of the new series that started up in 2005 if Dr. Who was just meeting Rose. Rose stuck around for at least 2 seasons. Christopher Eccleston would have been the Doctor you saw. I liked him a lot but I had to keep the subtitles on because his Northern accent took me a long time to become accustomed to. Dr. Who is loads of fun. Enjoy! :)

    1. I saw it when I published the comments (I moderate) but I was far too lazy to reply on the iPad, which is a pain in the patootie to type on. Thanks! Hope you had a fun holiday week!!!

    1. Thanks, Iliana! Hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving! I finished my 50,000 words but haven't reached resolution of the story so I'll get back to work on it as soon as Kiddo goes back to school and husband to work. They are noisy creatures, those family members. LOL
