Happy Holidays!

I have a sneaking suspicion that very few people are online, tonight. Am I right? For any diehards who happen by on Christmas Eve, I wish you a wonderful holiday and many enjoyable reads in 2007.

I've finished one book, for which I'll skip the review: Summer in Tuscany by Elizabeth Adler. Blogging life should return to normal when the eldest son returns to his apartment in his bashed truck to, hopefully, study intensely (this time).

Currently reading: Who Makes Up These Rules, Anyway? by Stevi Mittman and Financial Peace Revisited by Dave Ramsey.

The entire family is home, the kids are playing a video game, and we're all stuffed with salmon that's been frozen since the hubby dragged it home from another state (I don't know which state, actually). 50 people are currently signed up to tackle their fat books together (yay us!) and we're having a Mississippi Snow (aka "rain" - yuck). I'm off to read and possibly con the youngest into doing a crossword with me. Hope you're all having too much fun to read this!

Happy Holidays!!!

  1. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. I guess I'm one of the diehards who is still around. LOL It's not so much that as it is that my husband and I are having a quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with just the two of us. Our families are far away celebrating on their own. Enjoy the busyness of the season and have a safe and happy holiday!

  2. I'm a diehard!!! Actually, I've already had my fun for the day. We had our collective gathering yesterday, so today my mom and I did some running around and then whiled the afternoon away watching some movies (Shaun of the Dead...because that's REALLY Christmassy, and A Christmas Story). Right now I'm waiting for my cousin to come pick up his boys' Christmas presents (motorcycles) from our garage so I can get horizontal and curl up with my new iPod. Woot!

A very merry Christmas to you and your family, Nancy!

  7. Literary Feline,

We had a great Christmas, thanks - hope you did, too! I was just being silly. We were having a quiet evening after the budget lecture with the kid - I'm online a lot, but not *that* much. LOL It's just the four of us, this year, and it's been really nice. Hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday season!

    Andi!

LOL on Shaun of the Dead. You got an iPod? Cool! Have fun with it! I got one for some holiday, last year; definitely the perfect gift for a music junkie.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Andi! Hope you get some good rest in before you get back to work. :)

    Nat,

Thanks! I wondered if Christmas was celebrated where you live, at all. I'll jog over to look at your Christmas dinner in a bit. I guess our Christmas Eve meal was the biggie, since we pretty much grazed, today. We did have a wonderful Christmas, thanks! Hope yours was great, too!

    Les,

Thank you for the early greeting! I loaded the messages and then everyone got up just as I was beginning to think about replies, so here I am, replying 10 hours later. LOL We had a lovely day, thanks. Hope you did, also! Thanks right back at you for your friendship. I hope this is just the first of many years of friendship for us. :)

  10. Well, I wasn't around yesterday, but let me be the first to wish you great bargains for Boxing Day, bookfool! ;)
(do you call the 26th "Boxing Day" in the US?)

Also, I've done the "6 weird things about me", meme! :)

Hope you are having a wonderful festive season, bookfool!

  13. Bybee,

I'm poky, so it's the 26th here, now, too . . . actually, it's the 27th as of 10 minutes ago. Happy belated holidays to you, too, thanks! I hope you had a great Christmas. :)

    Lotus,

We don't celebrate Boxing Day in the U.S., but I know about it because I'm a devoted Anglophile. LOL We took the eldest out for lunch before he left and then I had to spend the rest of the day recovering from his visit, but I haven't given up on spending a day bargain-hunting, or at least spending the gift cards I got - from bookstores, yay!!!

Thanks for doing the weird things!!! I'm reading right now to annoy my husband. He's being a pain. ;)

    Hey Krista,

I'm behind in AN2R, but I hope I'll catch up, tomorrow. I'm glad you guys had a great time and made it home okay. Loved the card and the photo of Tristan, thanks!

    Hi Heather,

Thanks, I hope you had a great holiday, too!

  14. Fifty participants for The Chunkster Challenge? Woo Hoo! It's going to be great. Sorry I'm coming by a little late, but I am in time to wish you a Happy New Year at least. It's been great blogging with you this year. B.

  16. Since my parents only have dial-up, I didn't get online for about 4 days. It was extremely weird.
Hope you had a wonderful time with your family!

  17. Bellezza,

It's actually more than 50 participants in the Chunkster Challenge, now - I'm behind on my bloggy responses. Pretty cool, eh?

Happy New Year to you, also, and thanks - I've loved getting to know you, too! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!

    Ex,

We had a great Christmas, thanks. I was a little fuzzy with a cold, but it's already gone. Yay. Hope you had a great holiday and Happy New Year a bit early!!

    Angela,

I still have dail-up!! Ugh! We tried to sign up for the one decently priced high-speed in our area and, get this, they're no longer accepting any new customers. So, we're stuck. Glad you're back and hope you had a great time, in spite of the being-offline weirdness. LOL I'm currently reading Finders Keepers and loving it. :) Happy New Year a bit early to you!!
