News Flash! I'm Probably Wrong!

I don't actually know for sure, yet, but it looks like I'm reading Stevi Mittman's Teddi Bayer series backwards. Sigh. I think What Goes With Blood Red, Anyway? may possibly be the first book. I'll let you know when I find out.

Also, I'm finding the new Blogger a pain in the a**. Not only can I not seem to get back to my own darned page in order to hop around, once I post a message somewhere (so I just keep typing in my own address after I post a comment . . . ugh), but we have found out we cannot subscribe to the only reasonably-priced high-speed internet service in our area. They've got plenty of subscribers, thank you very much, and are no longer open to new additions. Sheesh. Someone move me back to the civilized world. I hope to get back to blog-hopping at Dark Age Speed, soon. The guys have been dominating my time; you wouldn't believe how long it took to write up the post, below, on my three most recent reads.

For those who visit my photo blogs, my apologies for the lengthy delay in posting. I'm also having trouble loading photos at both, although I think it's a connection problem - not a Blogger fiasco. Although, who can say? I posted two photos from yesterday's zoo trip to my Recent Developments blog but had to reboot in between them and so far haven't succeeded in loading a third. So, I guess I'll try again, tomorrow. The flamingos were totally cool. I'll try to load a flamingo, first thing tomorrow. Andi, I'm thinking of you when I attempt to upload flamingo pics.

Off to read and pout about wasting all that time trying to load things.

I was just reading Semicolon and she linked to your challenge. OMG! Another Mississippi book blogger! Well I'm putting you on my local links list!

I would love to do the Chunkster, but I don't have time; although, I am dying to read Lonsome Dove. Can I read just gigantic book?

  2. That's the story of my life, reading series out of order. It could be worse, I suppose!

Blogger is a total PITA. It was the Not Loading pictures - slowly, that was the last straw for me. Oh, and now it's not letting me use my old account to post. Grrr.

Reading and pouting! Two of my favorite activities! ;)

  3. Sorry about your internet and blogger woes :-(

I haven't been doing a lot of blog-hopping myself lately, but it's just been the holiday stuff that has been taking up my time.

Things are already settling down so I'll be around more too.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS on being a NaNo Winner!!! How rewarding that must feel. :)

  5. Maggie!

Yippee, someone else in Mississippi who reads!! I love your blog. Thanks for adding me to your links. I need to update mine, desperately, but that may be a chore for after the men-folk leave the house.

Did you mean can you read just one book? Yes, definitely. And, Lonesome Dove is certainly a fat one. I think Joy is planning to read that one, also.

    Carrie,

It really doesn't bother me to read out of order - kind of funny that when I actually tried to go in order I screwed up. LOL

PITA is right. I can still get to my old blogger account to upload photos to my picture blogs, but it's like slow torture. Just peel off my fingernails, why don't you, is what I feel like shouting.

I pout way too much but I can never read enough. ;)

    Suzi,

It's what I get for living in the boonies, I guess. LOL Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't found time to blog-hop. I've been a homemaker for too long. I don't know how to function with people in the house!!!

    Joy,

Thanks. NaNo is the coolest thing on the planet. I have ancient unfinished novels from about 3 different decades and NaNo got me to actually finish one. I adore NaNo. :)

  6. I am sorry you are having problems. I love having cable internet but I live in a huge populated area. :)

  7. Krista,

I used to live in a nice, big city and our apartment was robbed, so I'll meditate on that. There's good and bad to everything, right? Having a slow connection is better than living in a place where you come home to find your door off the hinges. LOL

  8. Blogger really should have had a better idea of what would happen, don't you think? And no way to really get through to them! Am I screaming yet? Haven't been able to post a picture for about 2 weeks!

  9. Jenclair,

I don't know what they were thinking, but it seems like every time someone makes an "improvement" or "update" it causes more trouble. Yahoogroups is a perfect example, if you've ever dealt with them.

I can still upload photos but it seems to take even longer and I don't think the new layout is as intuitive as the old.

Sorry you can't upload photos! I know how irritating that is!!!

  10. How odd. I was just thinking Blogger's been uploading pictures much faster than in the past. I have cable modem and use Firefox, so maybe that's the right combination. Jenclair & Nancy, are you using IE or Firefox? Might be worth the switch.

  11. Les,

I use Firefox, but absolutely everything is sluggish. I'm also constantly getting messages saying my connection has been reset. That's not a blogger thing because it's happening all over the place. I'm heartened by the fact that AT&T merged with BellSouth, our only reasonable high-speed option. Maybe they'll open back up to new customers, soon, and that will help.

    Happy New Year, Les!!!
