Look what Gavin taught me how to do!

Thanks Gavin!!!! That's Gavin of Digital Life, if anyone's wondering. I begged my eldest (who is in IT) to teach me how to put text on photos for months. This is one thing I love about all you wonderful bloggy people! I'm learning new things!

That's great! I love learning new things. I just learned the other day (by trial and error and a bunch of reading) how to put a background on my blog.

  2. Oh, man! I can see you using this skill constantly (with hilarious results). I've got to learn that. My hubby is also in IT, but when it comes to this technology jazz, I'm a slow learner.

  3. Lynne,

Isn't it exciting figuring out those things on your own? I do a lot of tinkering. But, I also really appreciate it when I can get help with things I can't figure out!

    Kookie,

I've had a little too much fun, already. The first thing I did was take my photo of the bluebird in the cannon and added "May the bluebird of happiness fly up your nose." I need a life. :)

My son is a little too far away to be very helpful (and he works, goes to school, has a girlfriend). Does your husband talk in acronyms? When Daniel's home, it's like he and his father are speaking a foreign language, sometimes. Argh!

  4. this looks like a fun thing to do - I will have to try it out too

  5. Har! Yes, he always does! Then he tries to explain what he's talking about, and I'm like 'Well, why didn't you just say so to begin with?' I guess it's an epidemic with computer guys.

  6. Juliann,

It's very fun. Go for it. :)

    Kookie,

I don't know if it's a computer thing or a guy thing, but I've always had that trouble with hubby and eldest. I used to say, "Define before you abbreviate." Now, I just go into another room. They don't even try to explain, darn it. I wouldn't mind knowing what they're talking about but they head out to computer universe and leave me off the ship. It's nice knowing someone can relate! :)

  7. I knew you couldn't be talking about my brother, Gavin. But, hooray for this one! It is wonderful learning new things!

  8. Bellezza,

You have a brother named Gavin? I didn't know that. But, actually, I don't know your real name so that shouldn't be surprising, I suppose. :)

Great picture. I can't even comprehend what I have to learn in the blog world.

  10. Kristy,

I ask a lot of questions. Most of it's pretty easy, I've found, but even if you're baffled there's usually someone around who is happy to share his or her knowledge. Cool, huh?

  11. That's really cool!! I need to get one of those "Blogging for Dummies" books! I could probably use it. My HTML skills are weak at best!

  12. Stephanie,

I thought about getting HTML for Dummies, but my husband talked me out of it. He said, "You never read those Dummies books." Which is true. I don't know why, but I can't seem to get through any of them. So, I just look things up on the Internet and ask for help when I can't figure something out. So far it's worked. We didn't have HTML back in the dinosaur days of my schooling, of course. :)

    Suzi,

Thanks. That bird was in a tree in my backyard. The worm was a bonus. LOL

Oh, that's so cool! I can hear the robin (wait, is that a robin?) saying that.

  14. Yep, it's a robin. Kind of a fat one. :)

  16. Gavin,

Thank you for teaching me!!! I think you've helped create a monster; I've already had loads of fun putting text on photos and most of them are extremely silly. Now I'll be able to make challenge buttons, too! Such fun! I just can't thank you enough. :)
