Now We Are Three

It's my bloggiversary!!! Yes, three years of happy bloggihood, thrilling book indulgification and mind-numbing babble have happened, here. I meant to celebrate by giving books away but I've become a bit of a procrastinator and you'll just have to go for the baby book for the freebie, at the moment. I'm going to try to round up more giveaways in the coming months, just 'cause I luvs ya. Thanks to SuziQ for the cupcake!

Bored? Here's my first blog post.

And, here's my first book review on this blog.

If that's not enough, here's a fun anecdote that has something to do with cactus.

Bookfool, a wee bit beyond 3 in a different age category

  2. Hey! Happy anniversary! I just checked back and found out that my first post was on April 27th, 2007 but I still consider June 1 as my official start.

Here's to as many more years blogging as you wish to have!

  3. Thanks a million, Lexi!

    Many thanks, CJ!

Does that mean you didn't start really saying anything till June 1? I remember you were a little unsure, at first.

    Thank you muchly, Carrie!

  4. Happy blogiversary! I would have loved to get a cactus as a gift- some of them have beautiful flowers.

  7. Jeane,

Thank you! My cacti were very pretty. They're also quite dead. I think you can have the succulents and I'll stick with simpler things like daylilies. :)

    Alyce,

    Thank you, m'dear!

    SuziQ,

Thanks! I wondered how long you've been around. It seems like I've known you for quite a while. :)

  8. Happy Blogiversary, Bookfool. You're one of the first bloggers I remember from when I started. It's always so fun to read your posts. Hope there's many more years to our friendship.

Laughed about the cactus. I think whenever a man does anything that "he" thinks is showing he loves us, we need to accept it and cherish it. I don't do well at keeping cacti alive either. It seems they should be among the easiest plant life to keep alive. I don't get it.

  12. You know, I saw the date was 6/6 yesterday and I thought about you because I remember talking about your "devil" of a bloggiversary. Is it odd that I know the date of your bloggiversary but I don't know the date of my own? LOL!

    Anyhow - happy bloggiversary! Here's to another 3! =D

  13. Happy Blogoversary!! I loved the cactus story...my cat would absolutely eat a cactus, then he'd probably nibble on the pot it came in while rolling around in the potting soil....he's a wild child....

My first blogoversary is coming up in a couple of weeks. I can't believe I've been plugging away at the blogging for a year, and here I am, a green pup compared to you! Congrats!!

  14. I've never had much success w/cacti either. I think I always give them too much water.

  15. Happy Blogiversary! I love coming here so I hope you're still blogging in another 3 years. Have a great day.

  16. Booklogged,

Thanks, dear. Same here -- I know we've known each other practically since we the beginning of my blog. I have so enjoyed getting to know you.

Oh, dear. If cacti are the easiest plants to keep alive, it's no wonder I haven't succeeded with much else. I'm really bummed about my mother's tropical plant, which thrived last summer. I let it freeze in the winter and now it's apparently stone dead. If I could, I'd just replace it but I haven't seen one anywhere. It might be for the best that I can't find one. LOL

    Nikki,

    Thank you muchly!

    Nymeth,

Why, thank you! That's just about the nicest thing you could say about my blog. Got my warm fuzzies for the day, now. :)

    Lynne

    Many thanks!!

  17. Megan,

I really never paid attention to my blog anniversary date till I noticed other people celebrating, so no . . . I don't think it's bad that you forgot. And, my devilish day is kind of memorable, now, isn't it? LOL Thanks for the wishes!

    Kelly,

My cats have never been all that naughty (I had two at the time -- we're down to 1, now), so I think they were acting out. They also ruined a bathroom throw rug in the way cats do when they're unhappy. Needless to say, we never hired that teenager to watch our cats, again. Otherwise, we've had no problem. Sounds like you've got a little devil. :)

Thank you! Green pup, LOL. I like.

    Jeane,

Same here. I think I make their infrequent fake desert storms happen on something akin to a Mississippi basis. That just doesn't work for cacti.

    Dar,

Aw, that's so sweet. Thank you!!

    Thank you! :)

  28. Me? Unsure? Surely you jest...

You were such a big help back then. It was a comfort knowing if I had any serious issues, I could ask you for help!

Before the first I think I more or less just... rambled. Hey! What do you mean I'm still rambling??

  29. Andiloo,

Thanks, babe. Right back at ya. :)

    Care,

Especially those thrilling book indulgifications, right? :) Thanks!

    Amy,

I know! I can't believe you've been around 6 years!!! I'll be there. I've got 300 posts to catch up on in my reader -- took the weekend off. :)

    CJ,

Heh. That was a long time ago in a land far, far away. LOL

You will not see me complaining about rambling!

  32. Oh goodness I'm so behind on my blog reading so forgive me for being late to the celebration! Love visiting with you via your blog and wishing you many more bloggiversaries! :)

  33. Iliana,

S'okay. I fall behind all the time. This weekend, I didn't visit a single blog (or write much, for that matter . . . or read). Thanks for the wishes!!! :)

  34. Yay!!! 3 years of great blogginess! It was fun to look back at your earlier posts. Remember when Andi was A. Estella Sassypants?! I wonder when I first popped in after discovering you?

Anyhoo, happy blogiversary. Sorry I'm late (again!) to the party. Yours is one of my favorite blogs to visit. Don't go away, ok?! :)

  35. Happy anniversary, Nancy! You have such a great blog, not to mention how wonderful you are. Congratulations on hitting the three year mark.

  37. Les,

I noticed that -- I'd completely forgotten Andi's former moniker. It was a cute one, for sure! Andi was one of my first visitors because she knew me from a yahoogroups book club. I don't know when you showed up, but it was pretty early on! Thank you! I'm not going anywhere, as far as I know. :)

    Wendy,

Thank you! You say the sweetest things.

    Veens,

    Many thanks!

    Kailana,

    Thank you!!

  38. Happy Belated Blogiversary! Mine's coming up this summer. I still equate "Bookfool" with a funky little character that's wearing a thinking cap! :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Joy,

Thank you! Yeah, sometimes I miss that little cartoon character with the thinking cap. I just got tired of it, at some point. The reason I chose the cat pic is that she looks like she's laughing, to me. I wondered if you had an anniversary coming up! You started just right after I did, didn't you? I know you've been visiting me practically since the beginning!
